my 360 broke today, and i bought it in january.  i would wait a month or so until the elite comes out, maybe they will have fixed the issues by then.

[QUOTE="Mikey289"]Why are you complaining? You have a 3 year warranty? Whats so bad with that, so you have to go through MS instead of Wal-Mart, who cares.death1505921

He has to wait 2-3 weeks, instead of driving to walmart to have it immediatly replaced. He also has to wait for the box to be shipped and the possibility of havign a refurbished console.

exactly.  from what the guy who sold me the warranty at walmart said, i was under the impression that my "2 year product service plan" NOT "extended warranty (it doesn't say that anywhere) would begin upon sale.  the three weeks i have to wait to get my 360 back is what i thought i was avoiding by spending the extra 30$ on the warranty.

[QUOTE="l0n3lyn4t3"]I bought my 360 in January from walmart with the 30$ 2-yr service plan. I figured this would be an easy way to get my xbox fixed if it did break, like I'd heard they so often do. I love my 360 and up until today have had no problems with it at all. Well, I turn it on to play today and it freezes. This happened four or five times until I ultimately got the "3 red lights of death." I troubleshoot using the FAQs on the xbox website and it still doesn't work. Good think I shelled out the extra money for the service plan. So I call the walmart help line to make sure I can just bring the 360 back in and get it replaced or fixed. The guy on the phone gives me Microsoft's xbox service number. I am a little confused, so I tell him "No, you don't understand. I have the 2 yr walmart service plan." He responds "Yes, sir. But since you purchased the product so recently, it's still under MS warranty and they can fix it for you." I say "Yes, I understand that but I purchased the walmart warranty so I didn't HAVE to go through MS." "Sorry sir, but your 2-yr walmart warranty doesn't start until the MS warranty expires, but you do in fact have a 3 yr warranty technically. Its been a pleasure assisting you sir."
ASSISTING ME? This is THE biggest load of crap I have ever heard, and I am very TO'ed.Master__Shake

so where is M$ at fault?  Walmart pwned you.  Just take it back to customer service, they will take ANYTHING back.

where is ms at fault? how about the fact that my 360 died 3 months after i bought it.

If this is true, its a really shady move on Microsoft's part. What other reason could they have to withhold the release date than to try and sell all the remaining 360s and then release the Zephyr. I bought my 360 two months ago and I will be upset if they release a better version this month but I would be fightin' mad if I bought it on March 22.

Buy a converter that changes the red and white audio cables to a stereo jack (like 5$ at bestbuy) and then just use computer speakers.
