I gotta know how you guys get so good at Madden, it's ridiculous. I played through franchise on the default difficulty and went 14-2 and won the Superbowl. Then i did some practice games on all pro level since that is the default for online. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on the game after all this so I decided to try online to play a human opponent. That was a big mistake because you need to be a Madden expert apparently in order to compete.

Everytime I drop back to pass, the opposing team has 6 players breaking through my offensive line raping my QB in under 2 seconds. That's just silly. Of course my defense doesn't do that even if I do a full on blitz. How do I make my entire defensive line break into the pocket in under 2 seconds like that?

The second thing I don't understand is how to get the passing game going. My receivers rarely catch a pass that's thrown to them especially a deep pass. Not sure how to make them catch the ball because the opposing player always seems to catch the ball even in triple coverage.

When playing against the computer I mainly rely on my running game and my defense to win games, however the computer is a much easier opponent even on all pro level.

Anyone care to share any tips besides the obvious insults like 'go kill yourself', 'learn to play', etc etc etc?

Ahh some good definitions. I guess it depends on who you ask. I have seen some threads where games like Halo and Gears are considered hardcore, but here I am hearing they are for casuals. It's all very confusing really. I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy what you play.

I see this come up alot. People talk about casuals and hardcores. For some reason, people think that there are certain games that a casual gamer plays.

For example, if I work 40 hours a week, have a life outside of work and only play video games a couple hours a week, well then I guess that makes me a casual. So by that logic, I must buy games like Mario Party because according to everyone here, that's the kind of stuff that "casuals" play.

Apparently I can't buy Gears of War or a game like that because I don't play my xbox 24 hours a day so I'm not "hardcore". What does the amount of time a person plays have to do with the kind of game they like? If anything, someone who would buy these games people list as for "casuals", it would be children.

You think someone would spend 400 dollars on a console and only buy crappy games after they invested all that money?

Please enlighten me.

I'm just replying to the subject of the thread. I'm too lazy to read through 7 pages and I'm not anal retentive enough to go through and quote and dissect people's posts. Anyways, I can't believe you people are debating this. I played several games where you have to change discs. FF7 and Shenmue to name a few. When you get to a certain point in the game, it just says please insert disc 2, or disc 3, or whatever. WHAT IS THE FRICKEN PROBLEM WITH THAT JESUS CHRIST!!! Are we that lazy that we can't change a fricken disc? Good god. Hell when I was a teenager, people still had tapes, and when side one was finished you had to OH MY GOD TAKE OUT THE TAPE AND FLIP IT OVER TO SIDE TWO I HAD TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING OH MY GOD!!!!!! I can't believe there is even serious discussion on this. What the hell?

You know why I don't give a crap about this? Because I'm a grown adult with a real job. So if the360 starts to suck, I'll just go buy a PS3. Problem solved. Who gives a #$%&? I mean really.

The 360. The Wii is just a system to goof off with every once in a while, it doesn't really have "real" games. I am looking forward to Metroid Primeand Nights on the Wii though.

The VGA cables go via VGA resolution not HD resolutions. Just pick the highest res from the list that your monitor supports (probably 1600x1200 at the least).Twiggy794

Right, I understand that, I was just wondering what resolutions are comparable to whatHDTV settings. Would 1600x1200 be comparable to 720p, or whatever. I understand they are different, but surely a certain setting on one must be comparable to a certain setting on the other.

Hey all, i have a few quick questions about the 360 vga cables. I have a 20 inch CRT monitor, that is not widescreen, will this cause issues when using the VGA cable (do they automatically output in widescreen)? Also, can someone post the conversions for monitor resolutionsconverted totheir HDTV equal (what resolution is 1080i, 720p, etc)? One last question, is delay only an issue with certain LCDs monitors or can you get delay on a CRT monitor as well? I realize you don't know the specifics of my hardware, just looking for general answers so I can get a rough idea on these things. Thanks for the help.

Uh....yeah it has happened in almost every generation. PS2 was the weakest system last generation, before that the PS One was the weakest system and the n64 was way more powerful than the PS One or Saturn ever could hope to be. so the weaker system usually does win, it's odd when the superior system actually wins.

Because on the 360 the games look like they do on the back of the box. With a PC you have to have your system maxed out or else you end up playing some stripped down version of the game with half the settings turned down. With an xbox you just put the fricken game in and start playing and no messing with graphic settings and all that crap. I was a PC gamer for a while but I got tired of always having to upgrade then 6 months later new games that came out still lagged and sputtered cuz i didn't have the latest 4 thousand dollar video card or 6 billion gigabytes of ram. So the 360 is an investment that will always play the games for it to the full capacity without you having to upgrade it all the time.
