Here's what i'll be ordering in the next few days and i'm looking for a few pointers.

NZXT whisper case (kept from previous computer)

i7 2600k (kept from previous computer)

Noctua NHD14 (kept from previous computer)

Corsair 80+ 750w psu

Asus P8Z68-V Mobo

EVGA GTX570 (will SLI in the future when i have the money)

memory (not sure)

HDD (not sure)

Couple questions about memory and hard drives for my 2nd buid. First, how do i determine which memory would be the best value? When i look on newegg it seemslike say 4 gigs of hyperX is 50 bucks but 4 gigs of g.skill is 80 bucks. everything pretty much looks the same except the latency. is there a way to determine what latency would be better? does it even matter? Second question...the Intel Z68 technology apparently allows you to integrate an ssd and hdd for every day tasking. Does the ssd basically "speed up" the regular hard drive? Any input appreciated!

ha yea i too am i google fan and have lurked around on overclockers. is it really just as simple as moving the sliders over? there are a few options that i can basically move the sliders over for mhz, cpu voltage, etc. kinda like the ati overdrive thing. im guessing i just crank it up to where i want it and its done? still kinda unsure of the actual process. someone please enlighten me.

So here's the story. I just put together my first computer and to my complete surprise everything works. But now i want it to run at its greatest potential so i can get the most for my money. I'm looking for someone knowledgeable that could maybe show me a few tips on how to tweak and oc my rig. The parts are asus m4a79 deluxe, phenom II 940, 4 gig ocz 1066 ddr2, sapphire hd4890, corsair 650 psu. There is a noctua cpu cooler that should be coming in by monday. The parts came with all this software (asus expressgate, turbov, ati overdrive,)that seems easy but i dont wanna blow anything up. If anyone's interested and local email me at songjae14@Yahoo.com. Thanks for your time guys!

I just bought one a week ago, a nr1030 and i love it! i mainly use it for work, using microsoft works which is included. My only complaint is the small 16gb solid state drive, but i don't use the computer for music or gaming anyways. If you buy one i would definitely recommend adding an additional gig of ram (making it 2 gig of memory) the comp. will run a little faster. i got mine from crucial for i think 28 bucks. easy to install too. highly recommend it.

So i've just ordered a thermalright true 120 cpu cooler, but i had a quick question. Some people online were talking about "lapping" the base of the cooler, and getting significant results...what exactly does "lapping the base" mean? i'm confused...please help me shed some light on this cause i cant find any info about it. thanks, jeff

Okay so i've ordered all the parts and i'm pretty much done...except for the power supply. Only because all of the connectors and rails and whatnot confuse me. Here's what i ordered: Asus M4A79 deluxe mobo, Phenom II 940 cpu, 2 XFX HD 4890s, 4 GB ocz fatality 1066 ddr2, a WD 500gb 7200rpm hd, and nzxt 921 guardian case. Please pick the best psu for me and i'll buy it. I'm not sure if i need more than one 12v rail, or how many connectors, etc. etc. Then i can finally have someone put together this damn thing so i can finally get gaming. Thanks any input appreciated as always!

i just ordered my asus m4a79 deluxe mobo and phenom II 940, and now i'm looking for a case to buy. i was planning on running two video cards such as hd 4770s or 4870s. i'm planning on reusing my dell inspiron 530 case (if i can) or just buying a new one. my question is whether a mid-tower will fit sli/crossfire cards, or do i need a full size tower?
