Well i'm kinda on a tight budget...i've got around 500 to spend, give or take a little. I'm assuming i could salvage some parts from the setup i have now such as the case, hard drive, monitor, maybe the motherboard? i dunno. I don't need anything crazy just something to maybe run a game like COD5 on moderate settings, moderate resolution. There's just so many questions but hey I can give a price (500.00 USD) if u can come up with a nice system. Again, any input would be great. Thanks fellas.

Well the dell guy said i can use any atx power supply thats compatible. The dell guy said the motherboard and cpu are not overclockable (not sure if this is true)I think that's what the guy said, so i'm not sure if the mobo is outdated or not. I'm torn on whether to try to upgrade this setup or start from scratch. I was thinking a nice 500+ watt psu, Core 2 duo E8400 cpu, and something along the lines of a HD 4770/Geforce 250gts. I've done hrs upon hrs of research and still have no clue really what im doing...

yea trust me i didn't buy this dell, it was given to me. i've been looking at all these video cards such as the hd 4670, gt250, etc. and they all have these dual dvi input/outputs which don't look the same as my standard vga cable that im using now from the monitor to the computer. (the monitor is a 22" dell flat panel lcd monitor) are these outputs the same?

i'll call dell and ask whenever i can freakin get out of work. could i upgrade with one of dell's psu's? upon reading these threads it seems i shouldn't skimp out on the power supply as it could "fry" other parts of the computer. what would be a good psu to get if i was to upgrade again in the future? (say new mobo and cpu, etc.)

thanks for the reply, well i downloaded cpu-z and here are the specs: Intel Celeron 440 @ 2.00 GHz Chipset: Intel P35/G33/G31 Socket 775 LGA Core Voltage: 1.264 Clocks: Core Speed 1995.0 MHz, multiplier x10.0, Bus Speed 199.5 MHz, Rated FSB 798.0 MHz Cache: L1 Data 32 kbytes, L1 Inst. 32 kbytes, Level 2, 512 KBytes Bios Version 1.0.15 2GB DDR2 memory (DRam Frequency 332.5 MHz) 300 Watt Power Supply Well that's pretty much it, not sure if i should've put down anything else. Kinda surprised it said a celeron processor, thought it was supposed to be a dual core...or at least that's what the sticker on the front says, unless they're the same thing. It is the standard size inspiron case, not the slim kind. (that's a start! right?). Again, any input would be greatly appreciated. -Jeff

Well i'm kinda new to pc gaming, and i'd like to upgrade my current (probably slow) pc. it's a inspiron 530 dual-core processor, 2 gb ddr2 cheap memory, 250 gb hd, and whatever integrated graphics it came with. that's all i pretty much know about it. it's probably a base model dell. any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated. would a real nice video card be ok? or do i have to upgrade other parts of the computer? i would like to play cod:wow on at least moderate settings, and maybe some other new games out there. keep in mind i was pretty happy that i could play diablo 2 on 800x600 when i found the disc lol. it's been a while...
