Game's pretty dang good, as far as MMORPGs go.

What really got to me though, was the sheer number of quests (good or bad thing, I guess).  I felt completely overwhelmed by having 45 quests to do and feeling the need to complete them all.

I'd love to see a politcal board but unfortunately this IS a gaming website and such a board simply doesn't fit.  Admins - if you do add one I won't whine!

All my characters are the same level, I never let some get way above the others.. I like using them all!

Teams are:

Vaan (tank - dagger & shield), Fran (healer - staff / white magic), Balthier (archer - x-bow & black/arcane magic)

Basch (tank - sword & board), Ashe (healer/tank - spear/white magic), Penelo (mage - gun & white/black magic)

I really wanted to make my characters different and unique. Balthier with X-Bow actually works out really well considering that strength is the defining character for X-Bow and I gave him heavy armor to increase his strength. Also, my most powerful and most damaging character would have to Penelo. Her damage with the gun is not affected by any of her stats, but simply in the quality of the gun/ammo I give her, allowing her deal massive criticals with the gun while casting powerful black spells and keeping my team healed.

I think this is the most enjoyable part of the game for me -- planning out character development paths and setting them up with the proper equipment.

I agree.  I would say atleast 2-3 more years until Nintendo focuses on a completely new handheld.  The DS has tons of staying power left in it and we haven't even begun to see the best of what it can offer.
