Ok so my brother got a Wii and I think the concept of using 3 dimensional movement in controlling game is brilliant, anything that encourages people to actually get a bit of exercise is good in my book. However very few great games have been released for the Wii so far, probably only Galaxy and Sports really stand out. Very few developers seem to be interested in developing games specifically for the Wii and the Wii specific games above have proved to be the best ones so far. The technology is definitely limited compared to the PS3 and the Xbox360.

I am sure that Nintendo are profiting well from the sales of consoles however I just wonder how long they will be able to justify a console without many great games. The PS3 also has the advantage that now HD-DVD is a dead duck an in-built Blu-Ray player is definitely attractive to buyers, as it offsets the higher price of the console.

Half-life Source can be obtained from Steam and is a conversion of half-life into the source engine by valve. However it uses all the old models and textures, so while stuff like water looks amazing, the rest looks a bit less good. The black mesa mod is a conversion changing models as well but is unoffical so nobody really knows when it will actually be finished although it does look amazing.

Well I've been playing PC games for many years now and I miss the days of the big PC game boxes, before DVD cases came along at all, with big value-for-money instruction manuals. The manual I got for Civilisation 2 was like a bible while even the first Gran Turismo came with a really good racing manual.

Then again maybe games now are too dumbed down to need any kind of explanation with them.

Absolutely agree with NOLF2; one of the best first person shooters I've ever played in terms of style and story, as well as pure fun.

XIII- Great interestingly styled graphics, good story

Homeworld 2: Beautiful graphics, great stategy

System Shock 2: I still struggle to understand why nobody bought this, one of the scariest and best games I've ever played but due to lack of commerical success there'll probably never be another one.

Best game nobody played: Sid Meier's Pirates: A range of exicting games, easy to pick up
