This is my first blog post. I know what a pessimistic way to start. The idea of just quiting alltogether and focusing my freetime on something else has been on my mind for quite sometime.

I used to be addicted well you might even go so far as to say obsessed with video games. Playing them, talking about them. Some reason my passion for them always seemed to stem from talking about them first and actually playing them second. My motivation to play games dwindles everyday. Whether it be the industry churning out useless sequal after sequal or maybe its just like whats her face said on xplay maybe we are just becoming more and more jaded every year. It really seems to me that what was fun just isnt there for me anymore. I have a few things to say though. Over the years I have witnessed a number of ridiculous things. I usually take it with a grain of salt but still I have to ask this question.

Why is it that gamers take their platform so seriously? I mean sure we can't all afford every system. But why all the constant bickering and heated arguing over this game or that system?

If you put a xbox loyalist and a playstation loyalist (I despise the term fanboy) in a arena and started a debate on which one is more powerful I am almost sure the debate would escalate to a fight to the death. Only one would walk out alive. Whether you play 360 or ps3 or you only play pc why the need to defend it as if it was some sort of religion. Its ridiculous.

I went to pc gaming to get away from the bickering among other reasons and what I find is more arguing about how they nerfed warriors again and how druids will soon take over the world. I even saw a thread on the forum talking about how the average pc gamer is smarter than a console gamer. This is just dumb. Why are we arguing over this? Why do we as humans feel the need label and divid people? This time its not even over something legitimate, its over video games. Its a past time, a hobby. Its not a worldview, and this isnt a war. As cheesy as it sounds that one saying has popped in my mind all along. Can't we all just get along?

I don't know if I will quit, but as the title suggests I am seriously considering it.
