I finally got to take my Tau out for a spin today! All assembled, all armed, and prepared to go! we ended up playing 1000 pts Tau, 1k 'Nids and 1k room Marines in opposition to 1.5k room wolves and 1.5k guard. And, well.. it absolutely was probably the most onesided combat ever. Our lists weren't bad, theirs weren't overpowering, the dice just refused to work. Technically, we weren't tabled, but at the finish of turn three, all that was left was a single Broadside, two Tyrant shield and four marines. for your damage of 3 terminators, 5 guardsmen, a Wolf Priest and two wolf scouts. Some lowlights: Tervigon dying in turn a single to Jaws belonging to the Wolf. A Broadside and also a Hammerhead with railgun not even glancing the Leman Russ they have been facing affordable with. while it absolutely was with the open. For 3 turns. 4 Stealth fits with Burst Cannons failing to kill just one guardsman, again, with the open. A Wolf Lord on thunderwolf (and no invulnerable) with the available surviving 30 pulse rifle shots, 2 plasma rifle shots, four missile pod shots, and also a demand with a brood of Raveners with no dropping a wound. A flying hive tyrant, complete squad of gaunts, three warriors, and ten termagants operating into ten terminators and bouncing off. The exact squad of terminators facing away in opposition to a Librarian and five terminators, dropping three men, total. Master of Ordinance killing a complete squad of marines a single turn, then scoring a direct strike for the Hammerhead in turn 3. The only highpoints: My Broadside survived 2 heavy bolters, 8 bolters, a lascannon, a battlecannon, a multi-laser, a rocket pod, the Master of Ordinance blast, three Krak missiles and an autocannon to survive the fixture on turn 4. It was kinda wierd, honestly. practically nothing went our way at all, while the 'guard and 'wolves experienced probably the most freakish luck I've actually seen. The only issue they failed at was orders. four times, with rerolls, they failed to purchase the guard.
