Larrabee isn't a break though, it is just Intel's answer to GPGPU.

I wasnt calling it a break through i was calling it a next big thing in computer hardware.

This thread doesn't make sense. Current cards are already way more powerful than the ones in consoles....Couth_

Let me clear somethings to you.Having raw power is one thing and having a new seperate feature is totally another.The current cards are much powerfull than consoles but consoles have all their features example motion blurr,depth of field,soft boides and PS3 is very up to date as it can even RAY TRACE (A technique which can only be preformed on VERY powerfull cards).Ray tracing can be optimized on a single Cell processor.

So these features can keep PS3 and Xbox 360 up to date for atleast 2012/2013 or in simple words until a next graphical breakthrough like Crysis or Doom 3.

I think i can do that.Infact,i am planning to go ahead with only my consoles upto 2012/2013 where i think the next graphical break through will take place and consoles will be out dated in terms of graphics.Well yea i do have a 8800GTX,Q9300 and 2GB corsair to keep me up on the PC side aswell.But i dont really use it much for gaming nowadays.

Resistance was pretty tight, God of War 1 and 2 hellz yeah, but what does Killzone 2 really have going for it?I liked the animations, though somewhat sluggish, in KZ1 but the gameplay was repetive and boring IMO. Please elaborate on any opinions you might have of this sequel.

Well KZ2 is going to be alot different from its previous parts.Because in simple words,they have actually worked alot on this game and hopefully (saying this from the previews,gameplay footages,media info and alot other info) will score good.

Can someone tell me why Sony or MS would make new consoles, since they loose billions with the current ones?

I remember someone posted an article last week about the 4 billion dollars Microsoft lost with the Xbox.

Look at the long term income.Do you have any idea how much Sony is currently earning and has earned from PS2 ?

In the case of PS3 its a different story.They never targetted the console towards 2006,07 or 08.Their main earning will be from roughly 2010 onwards.And their earning is from GAMES not from selling consoles.The production cost of a 40GB PS3 is roughly around 800$.But that really doesnt matter when you earn alot in the long term.

Incase of Xbox 360 it is a completely different story,because their production cost is lesser than their sales cost.So they actually first earn money on selling a console and than earn secondary profits from games.Double profits.

Believe me when i say this because i will make it as simple for you as possible.Do you think MS or Sony were dumb enough to jump into a pool of fire and lose billions of dollars ? Doesnt that sound stupid ?

Both companies have ALWAYS had alot up their sleeves and always come out at the top in the end.
