[QUOTE="sinarilias"] I agree with u 100%. No one besides a 12 year old 360 fanboy would want Sony to be out of business. Although games like Resident Evil and GTA will be non exclusive to the PS3, and PS3's future is pretty dim, no one would want Microsoft to monopolize the gaming industry.

The reason 360 fanboys want the 360 to triumph is because of the winning horse mentality - it also applies to PS3 fanboys for that matter. Fanboys want their console of choice to be #1 this generation - they want it to be the most popular console so that they can feel good about their purchases knowing they have "the winner." Of course, buying all three consoles guarantees you have the winner anyway, so I don't understand why they just don't go ahead and do it. Owning multiple video game consoles is the best cure for fanboyism.
If you can't own all three consoles, just select the one that has the games that interest you the most. It's not that hard to decide. Too bad a fanboy purchase is usually one rooted in some kind of demented "patriotic duty" where they are forbidden to own a competitor's product.
I totally agree with this guy. It's probably the wisest words i've heard on system wars. The thing about the war between the three systems is to aquire to everyone's tastes. Wii of course has a very new crash course in creative gaming and interactivity and it seems to be working since it is outselling both the 360 and the ps3. Of course if they don't keep finding more uses for the wii-mote then nintendo will be in trouble. Now the 360 is probably one of the best consoles you can get at the end of 06 to the beginnning half of 07. It has the widest variety of games out for everyone, but i usually see it's main focus to teenagers in America for alot of first person shooters or massively bloody games. The teenagers in Japan are not very different from us teenagers in America, besides their influence on games. Everyone likes shooting and killing people but the main focus in Japan is probably the RPGs. Sony has been long trusted in Japan as having a good basis of adventure and role-playing games. Even with the new RPGs coming out for 360, i would think the ps3 would outsell the 360 on the basis of RPGs, but that doesnt mean ps3 would win. Also, no one is really focusing on the future line up for both systems. Everyone is just hyping games whereas they should be focusing on what you want on your selected system.
The mentality of having "the winner" is totally based on American standards. To me it's an idiotic standard because having the winning system isn't something to be proud of. Of course you want your investment worth it...but if you have a job 250$, 400$, or even 600$ is close to about 2-4 weeeks worth of pay. Fanboyism is for the younger kids because they don't have money. American mentality is also pretty stupid thinking that having "the winner" is something to be proud of.
this is what the three systems have to offer=
PS3 - this system is in third place, but sony is known to make comeback in the future. Sony also has alot of reliable RPG basis which would probably boost sales in japan. Also, many of the anticipated games that americans want are coming out at the end of this year hopefully, but for this one, we'll have to see
360 - this system has the best establishment of the three. It has the widest variety of games to get this year and has even more coming out. This system is known for its great shooter games and appeals greatly to american teenagers. For this system to succeed it really needs to expand its limits from beyond shooters. Because personally i dont really like the two new RPGs coming out for it. Hopefully they will come out with a better one. Also, many japanese people don't really like american products. so that will probably hinder the sales of 360.
Wii - this is truly one astonishing system. the wii-mote makes it a new way to play games which many people would probably enjoy. now this is really selling in japan because of low price and the fact that nintendo has ALWAYS pleased gamers in it's lifetime. we can expect more from this system in the future and hopefully they dont screw up with the wii-mote.
me? I own a ps3 because i want to play in hi-def in the future. It also has many of the games i want coming exclusively to sony. but i still like all three systems of course.
