[QUOTE="thegerg"][QUOTE="lo_Pine"][QUOTE="thegerg"] What makes you think that?

What makes you question that?

The fact that I find it hard to believe students that take loans have no other options. Now, please try to answer the question.

Not every student has rich parents.

Yes, they do. There would be no other way for the student to go to college if they did not receive a loan.

Or maybe these institutions and teachers shouldn't be making so much Effin money. Sad how a K-12 teacher makes about what I make as a landscaper yet even a community college teacher makes 6 figures. And just look at the kind of money college sports brings in without actually paying their product. Some say they get paid with an education however that education cost is peanuts compared to what they are actually worth.

It is what it is and with the way it is students would not be able to afford college without a loan.

[QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"]How else are we supposed to get money for college? I have maybe 10K in saving for it but that isn't going to cover the entire cost which will be $80,000 -$100,000.lo_Pine

If the government stopped interfering with the market for education, the Law of Demand would ensure that tuition costs would drop, since the demand for education is so high. Ironically, by flooding money into the educarion market, the government is causing the cost of education to increase, because educational institutions have an incentive to increase their prices, because they know the government will simply give more money to students to pay the increased prices.

You seem to have a flawed view of how supply and demand works. When there is high demand an increase in supply lowers the price of the good.

Just to clarify.

America's Funniest Home Videos is for idiots already,

Funny you would call people who watch AFV idiots when you frequently participate in the Off Topic of a video game forum. Especially one like this.

Is this true or is it not? Math is the handwriting of God.

I see you also saw Pacific Rim.

Yeah, lol. Though, that is not what got me thinking that math is the language of the Universe. That was my sig on this site when I first joined it. The way the guy said it in that movie was really catchy.

[QUOTE="Nibroc420"][QUOTE="lo_Pine"] You cannot grow half a tree. Or eat half a sammich, without first establishing the "whole" object as being 1.

It depends on the point at which you decide the object as being a ''whole''.

Not really? Animals are a good example, you cannot suggest half a cow is a "whole" cow.

No. That is what I am saying.

[QUOTE="Nibroc420"] Always. If there's only 1 unicorn, 1 is an amount. Even if there were 2, and it became 3. We may not know the exact amounts of things, like number of atoms, however there will always be an "amount" of something so long as there is at least one. If the amount is less than 1, it doesn't exist. /threadNibroc420

A whole number is not the benchmark for existence. You also have to be practical about this. A unicorn is not the best example.
