well one of the problems with downloading drivers off the net was that i didnt have internet. i had to get the drivers for my dsl modem off disk, which didnt read with vista. i ended up manually connect the computer to the modem and not really sure if i did it right. dsl shuts down when the computer shuts down, which didnt do that before with xp. this is annoying since i also have a router attached to the modem and my laptop can not connect. thats not such a big deal, and ill be getting around to my isp sometime about it. the problem i have is vista just doesnt recognize some of my pre-vista dvd/cds and autoplay wont work. i'm wanting to buy kotor1 and 2 (yes i know im behind, thanks to DAOC) but didnt want to if the games wont even be recognized by vista.

oh, havent tried any of them yet. i was just wondering since i had such a big problem trying to install my drivers from cd/dvd, most of which were for xp systems. i was just wondering if microsoft has come up with a solution yet. i couldnt find anything specific on the official website. some of my games is Baldur's gate2 + expansion, another is mechwarrior 4 +, an anthology of the old Quest for Glory games that came out around ME time, maybe even windows 98. i'm also wanting to play Star wars: KOTOR + 2, but dont want to waste the money buying it if it wont even play in vista.

so i bought a new computer that has vista 64 bit on it and after a frustrating round of trying to get the dang os to even recognize the drive disks for my moniter, printer, router, etc., i began wondering about my old games, which ran perfectly fine in XP. i had to manually go through the cd's just to get my drivers on, some of which i had to go online to do anyways because vista wouldnt even read the disk. now i know my games wont be recognized either, so is there some kind of workaround from microsoft that will help this issue so that i can run them? some of the company's of the games no longer even exist so drivers from them will be non-existant.

are most psu's generally standard when it comes to fitting inside the tower? i'd hate to buy it and then it turn out not being able to fit. also, are there any type of requirements i need to keep an eye on?
