Probably The Blueprint by Jay-Z. I was in 7th grade when it came out, and I remember my mom sent me to school with pink eye, when I get sent home she felt bad and offered to buy me a cd, and I chose that one and listened to it all day and instantly fell in love with it.
For me, this cd doesn't need to be an all time classic anymore, I actually don't think it will be. I just want it to be what 2001 is for me, an album that I can put on when I'm drinking with people and we can listen to it begining to end.
I've always been able to zone out to Jay-Z's Bring It On when I need to relax. I'm listening to The Way You Do It off the Listening right now and I love the violin/sitar/whatever it is in the background.
Tough call. After hearing those Getback snippets, I think that will be up there when the end of the year comes. Also, no one has mentioned The Cool yet. If thats as good as Food and Liquor, it will be up there too.
Nice, it's good that Jay sounds really excited about this album. When someone finds Blue Magic, definitely post it cause I am kind of reserving my judgment until I hear some of the songs off the record.
