Oh, I get it now, it finished fourth in the top ten, not that it was a 4/10... Seriously, GS, if you want to do movie reviews, get someone who has more in touch with what the average moviegoer is going to like. That's right, dumb it down, we are there to be entertained, the snooty cinema reviews only work for the snooty cinema features.
It truly depends on what you are looking for in a game, some folks need a goal, some sort of reward, whether it be self-satisfaction or a platinum trophy, what have you. Other folks just want to sit back, mash buttons, check out for a few hours, their achievement is getting away from real life for a few hours. For the folks in the first group, getting good should apply, you want that apple, you need to figure out how to climb that tree, simple as that. For the folks in the latter group, getting good is work and that's the opposite reason of why these folks play games.

This is common, even in real life, complying in hopes of talking the aggressor down.
@DeadManRollin: I probably got around 300 hours by myself in BL3 before I got bored with it, never once played with anyone else. It's not an especially hard game or anything, pretty certain all the content is soloable, which is definitely not the case with Destiny 2.
