1. Microsoft has been commited to moving "gaming" in general away from the PC and to the 360. I believe at one point I heard that explicted stated by a Microsoft rep.

At least Microsoft are putting some effort into Games for Windows 'Platform', and the benefit of them moving into the console market is that we get the occasional 360 port to the PC. And Games for Window Live was made free last month:D

And although it is linear; theres something extremely cool in walking the exterior and interior of a near photorealistic aircraft carrier.

[QUOTE="lowcally"]

So, if you are seriously trying to make a point, try harder. Sims doesn't sell millions now, because it's pretty old and people are already waiting for Sims 3. Crysis didn't sell well in 2007 because it was recently released in 2007 when the year ended. Ignoring the actual sales (not only in NA and not only retail and only in 2007) renders your entire post/s useless.DanielDust

When did I say Crysis didn't sell well? Look at the beginning of the thread.

Wait now you are using common sense? at least you realized what I wanted you to realize.

You said 2007, not 2008 and not the whole period from the reales of the game till "nowadays".

Now since you realized what you must, use that common sense, for WoW, Sims 2 and the other games.

And you know we've just both wasted 2 hours on a completely pointless argument :D

Although the scripted parts at the end were pretty linear it still looked really stunning. It basically turned into a Call of Duty / Medal of Honour style game towards the end.

And please tell me you don't think that what you said makes sense. :| (about Sims 2)

Hey I heard Diablo 2 is very old but it's a failure because nowadays it doesn't sell more than 4 or 6 K copies per year. Wow who would have though, a game that is soo old, that everybody has, or played.

Did you even bother reading what I said.

I'm talking about games released nowadays; aka 2007/ 2008, not 4 or 5 year old games.

Most or all of the above figures can be doubled at least. It should also be noted that not only is that list inaccurate, it's incomplete. There are high selling games that weren't tallied at that point, like Crysis, which had already topped a million before February 2008, meaning it deserves to be at least third on the above list. It's not there! Why? Because that list is worthless and meaningless!!!!

Thats because the list is games from 2007. Crysis initially sold about 85,000 copies (2007) http://www.edge-online.com/news/crysis-ut3-sales-fall-flat. The 1.5 million number was reported in June 2008 http://www.gamesradar.com/pc/crysis-warhead/preview/crysis-warhead-first-look/a-2008062711373466094/g-20080609143756441028 and the 1 million copies was in Feburary http://www.digitalbattle.com/2008/02/01/crysis-sells-1-million-copies/.

Sims 2:Where did I give you the impression that I was saying 2007, hmm? Was Sims 2 made in 2007? were most of it's expansions made in 2007? do I/anybody else care about a specific year when the games is out long before that?

You are ignoring the fact that those games are old and sold and still sell to prove your BS.

Look at my original statement:"To be honest, PC games nowadays are lucky to sell even 50,000 copies."

I'm talking about games released nowadays; aka 2007/ 2008, not 4 or 5 year old games.
