Finally a true expert's opinion! 100% agree with everything Bushnell said.

After all, who would know better about becoming irrelevant than the founder of Atari?

So it seems "the software sells the hardware"...

Unless it doesn't

@Lhomity @krystyla @SolidIngram @Uangry You're right, in a way Activision are heroes. They're helping companies like Blizzard turn away from innovative, polished experiences and embrace the power of the almighty dollar.

Remind me, what was Blizzard's big game release this year? A digital card game based on an existing IP funded via microtransaction.

Ok let’s get fanboyism out the way: MGS is the greatest series of all time and Halo sucks balls unless you’re a 12 year old multiplayer powergamer.

However, Japanese games have always been really backward when it comes to the portrayal of women and the MGS series is no exception. There’s not one balanced portrayal of women in MGS, they’re either too butch, too effeminate or too sexualised. But Japan is a totally different culture where Hentai and cosplay are the norm. Yes it’s distasteful to us Westerners but that’s Japanese society for you. Let’s hope that sexual equality reaches the land of the rising sun soon…

And enjoy the boobies in the meantime.

So the Wii U isn't struggling because of it's name or it's price...

It must be just because it's a piece of shit then...

This is a worrying step backward from a design standpoint if nothing else. Look at all that wasted plastic space around the edges! And the size, surely that is far too big for a child to use the shoulder buttons. Plus it can't possibly fit in a normal pocket so that means one of those pathetic sleeves/cases that people use for tablets (I think most would agree, they're a ball-ache).

If the plan is to make a handheld that is more affordable... well you're about 2 years behind the financial crisis on that one. If it is to make a handheld that's more like a tablet, all I see is a product with all of the negatives of a handheld and looks CHEAP in comparison to the shiny goodness of a tablet.

I just don't know. Watching Nintendo these days is like watching a close relative develop Alzheimer's and just slowly slip away...

@kgallis21 @Shawn45 Agreed. Microsoft brought out policies that gave them more control over the market. Product innovation should be to serve the customer, not the producer!

@prideofNY Who could bitch about this? I think we're tired of tacked-on multiplayer (see Tomb Raider) but genuinely innovative ideas like this or The Last of Us is what we want to see.

This has changed my view of the game. If the MP is up to scratch I'll definitely pick it up.

@de-astroturfer @Darkefka The most perfect summation of the situation I've read.

Gold star my friend.
