I understand I currently also have a 7900GS BFG and I love it but she is getting old and ready to rest in my box of has been video cards. The only reason I got a 8800GTS 640 over the 2900pro except for the fact that i love nvidia! Is form my great past experiences and the lifetime warranty!

look here up

Ok for one the 8600GTS yes is a decent card

but u alrady have a 7900GS which is 256bit you would be downgrading to 128bit.

although DX10 has not proven it superiority DX10 is the future and nothing is going to stop it so If you would like to play games in the near future your going to have to get a dx10 card. Einhander is right they are coming out and they will be a good card. But if your ordering tonight the get a 8800 320mb from BFG/EVGA/XFX or 2900pro Sapphire

well I am a huge Nvidia fan boy although i have had both. But i just orderd a 8800GTS 640 OC2 from bfg and I havent got it yet but I cant wait. But at this time from all the reading i have did its sad to say but it looks like you should prolly buy the 2900pro... Not that its better that the 8800GTS which I know reviews claims it is but I would have to say there about equal overall but the 2900Pro is so damn cheap right now!! But the only thing I do have to say is this.. ATI has no good warrantys
