Sorry for all the questions, the tv in the front room of my flat is 32"1080p, is the jump in resolution a noticable difference for both gaming and HD films? or whould the drop in performance not be worth it? would it be worth swapping once iv got a new card.

Thanks for all the help

720 looks horrific compared to the higher 768 res.

Im currently using a HDMI out put but the recomend resolution according to windows is the 1360x768. Is that normal?
By the sounds of it the 6870 sounds like a good buy then

Its what my tv supports.

And surely overkill would just mean high-ultra graphics for a few years?

Hello, i would really like to build a new pc but am strapped for cash for a good few months so though i might buy a graphics card now for a short term boost in perforamce untill i can afford all the other parts.

I was wondering what GPU people would suggest for under £150ish, it will be mainly used to play Battle field 3 which im currently mainly playing in low and a few mediums on a 32" 720p tv.

My current set up is

Core 2 due e8200 currently at 2.6 but can take it 3.4ghz
Ati Radeon HD 5670 512mb
4gb ddr2 ram at 1.3ghz
ASUS P5KC mobo

Iv been recomended a 6870? Would this be a reasonable increase in performance and fit in well when i build my new pc with probably i5 cpu 8gb ram etc?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks but that way i would get the sound from my speakers in my headset, which i could live with but would also mean the voices from team speak would be played over the speaker system too.

Due to inconsisten voice levels of other poeples mics i cant find a balance for the volume on a night when i have to keep the noise down to avoid waking poeple in the next room.
