to all at gamespot. and the world. i will get to the point. im possibly the biggest nintendo fan in existence, ive had every console and have imported almost every rare accesory you can think of. i have a wii, i was one of the lucky ones to have one on launch day. i also have a freeloader, which enables me to play my import gamecube games. as with everybody who has a wii and an internet connection, i update my wii system as it becomes available. i thought the recent update was pretty pointless. apart from an average looking digital clock sitting underneath my channels, it did nothing for me - apart from screw me over in a BIG way. about an hour ago, i put in my freeloader to enjoy resident evil 2 (my favourite all time game) and to my utter horror - the wii couldnt read it and kept informing me - thru a plain message window - that i must eject the disc IMMEDIATELY and power off the console. WHAT THE HELL???? i bought the latest version of freeloader a few months ago specifically for the wii - and all my import gamecube games were working perfectly before i updated the wii - and i cant go back to my gamecube cos i gave it away! AND THATS NOT THE WORSE PART OF THIS NIGHTMARE! i copied all my game saves to an sd card - then i went into the wii menu and " re-formatted my wii system' - you would thinkthat it would restore the wii to its factory default settings but no - it still has that dirty digital clock on the menu which means not only does my freeloader still not work - but all my data has been deleted!!!!!!! ALL MY MIIS! I HAD ABOUT 80 OF THEM! ALL MY VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAMES - I CANT BE BOTHERED TO REDOWNLOAD THEM COS IT TAKES A LIFETIME TO DO IT! and thats not the end of it!! i then went to copy the game saves from my sd card back to the wii - and a stupid message comes up saying "you must play the game and save before copying data" you what? that makes no sense? ive been trying for weeks playing thru resident evil 4 on profesional mode and unlocking everything the game has to offer - i was on the last chapter and now i have to start again - do u know how hard resi 4 on professional mode can get? i have my sabe file on my sd card but whats the point if it wont let me use it???? Nintendo has ruined my day. i bought freeloader legitimately and legally and now nintendo dont want u playing import gamecube games on you wii - they still make the money on them. I DONT GET IT! can someone please tell me im not the only person whose experienced this and i need to know if theres a way to un-install wii updates back to its original version. DAM nintendo for destroying my day.i want the world to know how angry i am yours angrily luke zebedee kao ps i cant just go out and buy non import gamecube games for my wii as i live in northern ireland - theres no decent shops here. theres nothing here! what do u expect me to do?
