It was also announced that over 300 HD-DVD movies would be released in 2007.

None from Universal. ;) And since the only other options are Warner and Paramount, that means they'll be coming out for Blu-Ray as well.

Universal did not announce any HD-DVD movies at CES 2006 either

yes they did.

since HD-DVD had what, a 5 month headstart? I would certainly hope that HD-DVD sold more movies.

Umm, 53 Universal movies outsold 72 movies from studios exclusively backing BluRay.

And why dont you link me to last years press release from Universal announcing all the movies for HD-DVD.

you ask....and you shall receive.. http://www.dvdreview.com/html/ces_2006_1.html

On the software side, Warner Bros., Paramount and Universal each announced the first wave of HD-DVD titles arriving concurrent with the Toshiba players. Most of the titles were contemporary action-adventure spectacles (no surprise there) with the announcement that Studio Canal and the Weinstein Company were also committing product. The first high-definition films will include "Cinderella Man," "Jarhead" and "Van Helsing" from Universal, "Batman Begins," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Constantine" from Warner Bros. and "Aeon Flux," "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" and "The Italian Job" from Paramount. BTW, the same titles announced by Warner Bros. and Paramount will also be available on Blu-Ray.

Well its official,  HD-DVD is doomed because Universal did not announce 3 movies at this years CES...

There's a difference. I don't think the PS3 supports 1.3a.RaNaBiR

Ok,  but its not 1.3a that adds deep color,  its 1.3

Too bad neither Blu Ray disks, or HD-DVD disks support "deep color"..

And by the way,  PS3 is not the only HD player with HDMI 1.3,  there are already HD-DVD Players with HDMI 1.3 and other BluRay players with HDMI 1.3

I would have a good surround sound setup. But because im a HDDVD / BluRay supporter im watiing for a resonably priced HDMI receiver that will accept the new audio formats.BlacKJaCK2290

What are you talking about?  You can get a HDMI switching receiver that will accept the new audio formats for $360 or so.
