It's 2:15 here and I'm bored but I don't feel like turning in. That and my dog won't stop farting in my bedroom.

[QUOTE="Nifty_Shark"]I don't even know why people are so offended by a person offering a preorder or a game guide. I mean to say no 2 times is such a god damn hassle it makes me want to throw a rampage right? The point is that people love to complain and have a hundred other people nod with them. Kind of like those boring people creating conspiracy theories.strayzilla

Well it's not just "offering" a ton of time either. It's almost insisting. And I'm sure tons of people get bullied into stuff like that.

Generally, when I go into the store here to buy a game the conversation will go like this 90% of the time.

Me: Ok I'll just take this.

Clerk: Would you like the used version for 5 bucks less?

Me: No, thanks

Clerk: Why? it's a good deal.

Me: Because I'd rather not pay 5 bucks less for a scratched disc with ripped manual.

Clerk: Yeah but if you buy a lot of games it pays off at the end of the year. Its like getting a free game for every 10 you buy.

Me: Well, I'd rather have 10 new games than 11 used scratched games for the same price.

Clerk: Ok.Would you like a card for discounts on used games?

Me: No.

Clerk: Why? The card pays for itself.

Me: I told you, I don't buy used games.

Clerk: Would you like to pre order Madden?

Me: No

Clerk: Well you might not get one later

Me: I'm pretty sure Madden isn't gonna be shipped short.

Clerk: Would you like a pre order for any of these other games?

Me: No, I'm good.

Clerk: But you might not get a game on release day.

Me: I don't care if I have it in my hand on Day 1.

Clerk : Do you have any used games to trade in?

Me: No. (standing there empty handed.. seems obvious I know)

Clerk : You should bring in some old games.

Me : No thanks. I have a collection, and try not to buy crappy games anymore, so don't have any I want to sell.

Clerk : would you like to get a strategy guide?

Me: No.

CLerk: Ok the game is hard and we've been selling a lot of these guides...

Me: Ummm how do you stay in business selling guides with sites like gamefaqs that offer guides for free....

That's the most lopsided and contrived argument I've ever seen. Congrats bud, you just won five minutes of my free time.

You're lazy, and in most cases, manufacturers/vendors use overnight.

I'd like to see some kind of first-impressions review for games. Some times, GS doesn't post a review for a particular game until after it hits shelves. For instance, i really wanted to pick up Two Worlds. GS didn't have their official take on it up on the site yet before it came out. I didn't pick it up because of poor reviews posted on other sites, but I would've liked to know what GS had to say before the game came out. Maybe if GS was to post a quick word or two or even a video (that'd be cool) of the "review so far" that gives the reviewer's first impressions of the game before the official review gets posted. Maybe in the case of Two Worlds, a post the day before the game came out stating any problems or dislikes (or likes) that the reviewer is experiencing at some particular point in the review process would help me in a game buying decision. The particular reviewer doesn't need to give a score or say anything definitive. But in the case of Two Worlds, I'm sure the reviewer's first impressions were "Wow, these graphics reek and the it's very buggy!" That would've been a handy tidbit for me in deciding whether or not to drop 60 bones. Thanks and welcome to our world!
