@Yomigaeru @made_u_look The gaming industry is still new only 40 years old in essence. It's still evolving but thriving. We all hate those giant gaming corporations but there the only ones who seem to push out the high end graphical games with real actors to voice there characters and we can't blame them for being lucrative because we are the consumers who pay money for there games. Is it necessary for them shell out alot of money? No but it makes the game that much sweeter. But we also forget the indie game makers theres hundreds of them whether there on Steam or Smartphones, there a thriving market. Almost all the games that started small but were successful have grown into successful IP's. Blizzard being one of them with the first Warcraft game.
It shouldn't be black and white. There is enough game companies out there to create a variety of games. Me personally I like my Elder Scroll games Skyrim being recently because of immersion and story but I like my Minecraft also because its just plain fun. There is alot of people who put graphics ahead of actual gameplay and story but I'm not losing sleep over there ignorance can force people to play there games. I think Mass Effect found a good balance between story and graphics and when a game finds that good balance it becomes Game of the Year recipients.
@EvilShabazz Eh Violence in games is a scapegoat. People nowadays make decisions based on fear and ignorance and then the pyschos feed on that. I read a article earlier this week about parents buying there kids bullet proof backpacks. In all honesty with the amount of tragedies we get bombarded with through the media you would think we were living in a Mad Max movie. But the facts say otherwise, were safer than any time in human history where the world population was sitting around in the millions and you didn't know whether you were going to live the next day.
@snaketus Ya same, I've played all the Sim City games until the disaster of Sim City Societies. Figured EA destroyed the IP and ruined Maxis. But this is starting to look real promising. Might give cities XL a run for its money if they allow modding to happen.
@Xenuri Not the point, some people aren't always hooked up to the internet. Ex, when I was in the Navy I played alot of stradegy games on my laptop during deployments so in this case anyone who did the same thing wouldn't be able to play this game unless they got a workaround for it. Which in essence would just perpetuate people in pirating it.
