@amillionhp: Tough to speak on that kind of perspective. I will say this much - Geralt/Yennefer storylines are somewhat "prequels" while Ciri's story is "present day." They WILL converge, but if you keep that in mind it'll help straighten things out. Also, witchers and wizards/sorceresses have long lives so decades don't alter their appearance significantly.
Entering the series that way armed with that minimal spoiler knowledge should keep you straight.
@gitsfan: I agree it could be confusing to someone who isn't familiar with the source material, but I think episode 4 did a good job of setting the chronology straight. Also, I think that you'll find that Season 2 will become more linear as they progress to the main series of books beyond the short story material of "books" 1 & 2.
@burnettaj: Yep, and the good news is that Season 2 is already green-lit. I'm going to be watching the hell out of Season 1 to show my support at any rate.
@ggsimmonds: And even if someone IS confused, episode 4 helps to clear things up by showing a character who should not have been there if it HAD been linear...and that helps set the clock for you.
I, for one, have read the books - played the games - and apart from some creative changes, everything hold pretty true to the book source material and even the changes don't alter the world setting at all.
Considering that Gamespot also gave Mad Max a 6 out of 10, I'm pretty sure that this game is a lot better than they think...they just seem to dislike post-apocalyptic games like Mad Max and Rage 2. After reading both of those reviews again, I'm not on the fence anymore - Rage 2 here I come.
@wolfewaves: Ditto...no performance issues here. Runs like butter for me and I love the depth of combat...it kind of infuses Graces f equipment with differing Tales games with regard to "title" selection, artes, and with a rather clever way of fusing with seraphim that differs significantly from Xillia's linking system. I think that it's great...solid 8/10 for me.
