I mean, I already knew that the game wasn't going to hold up to 2021 standards.
I'm having a great time with this game because I love Rome Total War, except now it'll address more RAM and use more than 1 core of my CPU.
I understand why people wouldn't like it, but I'm having a blast with this remaster.
I owned the original so I picked this up for 15$, which is great since it comes with both DLC. Meieval 2 Total War is $25 on steam with one DLC. So, Rome Remastered for 15$ with 2 DLC is a steal as far as I'm concerened.
FYI: if you own the disks of the original game, then you can register the CD key on Steam and take advantage of the discount.
@juninhotorres: Oh, as of this moment, crossplay is a total luxury item.
Right now it’s more of a bulletpoint of one-up-manship between developers and console manufacturers.
...but I have to admit, it’s a nice feature. We just need to draw the line between “crying about it” and “asking for it.”
Still, locking Epic accounts to prevent crossplay is crossing-the-line. Even if you happen to believe that progress and money spent should be platform locked, having to sign up for a new email account so that you can create a new Epic sign-in is irritating.
@ZIMdoom: Hey, listen, You're frustrated. You have every right to be. I'll (figuratively) stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you in your anger. I'll even agree with you that the consumer backlash is getting muddled because crossplay is the less egregious issue.
...but Barighm was responding directly to ME. It was NOT a general comment. In the post that he's responding to I ALREADY brought up the account lock-out. He literally starts his post with "The other issue,” which means he's already acknowledged the account lock-out and he's bringing up a neighboring point.
Listen, I'm not a moderator (or anyone of consequence), so you're under no obligation to listen to me. Feel free to shout at the world.
@ZIMdoom: ZIM, buddy, I get that you're upset, but some people actually want to talk about crossplay. I don't think that talking about crossplay is out-of-bounds for this article.
I can appreciate you trying to laser focus the narrative on the account lock, but tone it down a notch.
@Barighm: Yes, I remember that as well. That definitely indicates that it isn't a technical barrier.
I can respect Sony's decision to not allow Crossplay, if Sony is willing to live with the backlash. However, locking people's Epic accounts, which is a 3rd party account, from the Nintendo Switch is not cool. Especially since it wasn't disclosed.
I don't know... maybe it's Epics fault for implementing the account lock-out. In either case it's bogus and needs to be addressed.
@juninhotorres: It's not only that Crossplay is disabled for Playstation. The bigger issue is that if you've ever used your Epic account to play Fortnight on the PS4, then your account is locked out from logging in on the Nintendo Switch.
Can you imagine if Dell computers locked out your Steam account if you tried to use it on another PC?
@jasperwest: I thought Hydra was pretty good in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
I actually said to myself during that movie "how is Steve going to overcome this?" I thought it was an "edge of your seat" movie.
...but, generally, I agree with you. In most of the comic book movies I never felt that the heroes were in any danger of being defeated or not being able to accomplish their goals.
