[QUOTE="dcowboys3315"]yea someone should go tell tiger to just stop being so good. a great golfer like him is ruining the sport...murlow12
Well it's great for the sport's exposure, but it can't be denied that he's driving up the prices.

might as well get rid of the Yankees and Lakers and Cowboys while we're at it, they're driving up prices as well.

the starters will be all Yankees and Red Sox because their fans seem to refuse to vote for the best players.

one bad game and Colon's ERA goes up 2 runs.

one bad week and Chipper's average is still over .400

[QUOTE="Master_Jdog"]I am i doubt any other people on this board are watching it because alot of people pass it off as boring. I actully think watching golf is exciting if you know what's going on. Not as exicting as Football, basketball, baseball, or most other sports. Still it's fun to watch when you know what's going on.Just_Osmo

Ya I was jumping off my couch on some of the eagles and a few of the birdies I saw. Golf is an amazing sport. I want to start playing sometime soon. We have 2 golf courses within a few miles of my house.

golf is an awful sport for starters..it costs so much and you're guaranteed to be horrible when you begin. i've played probably 5rounds and never got anywhere near lower than 125. it's not like basketball where you can be bad and still do od things. when you suck at golf , you suckbad. which is why i never play anymore.

Bartolo Colon

No one wanted him, we signed him for next to nothing. Now he is 4-1 with a 3.41 ERA.

NetYankEagle

I had a feeling he would be good when I saw that boston got him. He was a Cy Young pitcher. Smart move by Theo epstein.

On topic, it has to be Chipper Jones. He is good player no doubt, but what he is doing right now is incredible.

He shouldn't have been a Cy Young pitcher.

The obvious answer is Chipper Jones....obviously.

Why didnt he deserve it? 21-8 with a 3.48 ERA is pretty diesel. Sure Johan had a lower ERA but he was 3rd. Mariano Rivera was a great closer but honestly a closer shouldnt ever win a cy young unless they have under 1.0 ERA and over 50 saves.

Not a lower ERA, a ERA so much lower that it disgusted me that Colon won it. That was the perfect example how people overrate wins so much. Johan was clearly the more dominant and better pitcher throughout the season, but Colon had better run support so he won it. Johnson in the year where he had 290 Ks and sub 3 ERA but didn't win was a good example too. Not only did he not deserve it, he shouldn't have gotten one vote. People who wanted to vote a closer would vote Mariano, there's absolutely no reason anyone would pick a starter other than Santana for Cy Young. That Randy Johnson, Helton one year and this Santana was the worst snubs ever.

Aparently they thought he deserved it since it wasnt even close. But hey they dont always get them right. Beckett should have won the cy last season over CC

Do you ever get tired from being so biased? I mean Jeter could be traded to the sox tomorrow and you would probably praise him as the next god

excellent post. if colon wasn't on boston, osmo would care less.

and lol @ picking colon over chipper jones. chipper has been the best hitter in the MLB so far.

He won't be suspended. This is his first arrest and it's a misdemeanor. That's not suspension worthy. Fine probably.

Just_Osmo

He's getting a misdemeanor? Yeah he's not getting suspended then. Maybe if the team has some code of conduct in his contract they could fine or suspend him, but that's about it.

Slap on the wrist. He's a celebrity and he turned informer. He will be on probation gauranteed with court fines.

aren't you one of the people who said it was okay to smoke weed?

yet it's a slap on the wrist for a guy to do drugs just this time it's painkillers. they're both bad for you and they're both illegal.

[QUOTE="DeathStar17"]Both were taking part in illegal activities and they both got caught, big deal. The guy trying to provide for his children could have picked a more honest occupation...Just_Osmo

If you read he was an unemployed construction worker. Maybe he couldnt find a job in the construction industry and was sellign them to get by.

just because you're unemployed doesnt mean it's okay to deal drugs. selling drugs is not 'getting by'..there are endless legal ways to make money

If you're snitching on environmentalists who are planning to do a non-violent but illegal protest to save your ass- yes I hate you.

If you're snitching on drug dealers to save your ass, I don't care.

manningbowl135

Eh, as a recovering drug addict I know some of these people are just trying to support their family and are not violent people. This guy wasnt selling crack on the street corners with a gun in his pocket. He was a unemployed construction worker trying to get money to raise his 2 girls by selling pharmaceuticals. I have much sympathy for him.

I find it hard to believe in America where teens are getting jobs so they can get Ipod, someone can't get a job (even at McDonalds) to provide for his family. I don't have sympathy for him b/c he can earn money legally. Chances are selling pharmaceuticals doesn't exactly make him thousands every day.

absolutely. rather than having the police go search for drug dealers, which is highly dangerous, they get someone he knows to get it done and get the guy off the street.

they got the more important guy (the dealer) off the street. it's not being a snitch to comply with police requests that help society. it's the drug dealers fault for dealing drugs in the first place. like was said above, get a legal job like everyone else. it's unfair to the people who work at mcdonalds making honest money that there's a guy like that making more money than they do by selling drugs.

also, while painkillers are good for those who need them, they are not good to be abused. so i don't understand how just because they are often prescribed makes it okay.
