It really depends on your budget and what games you like to play. If you enjoy gaming on consoles, a XBox360 or a PS3 is not a bad idea. You already have a computer for all your "computer" stuff (email, internet, etc.). I personally prefer PC gaming, so if I had to choose, I'd choose beefing up my computer so I could play my favorite games.

But that's just me. :)

Hi. I was about to build a new PC but then again after reading so much I don't know.

My PC is 6 years old:

Dell 8200,

2.4 Ghz

1GB of ram

6800 128 MB AGP video card

1680x1050 samsung 215TW

XP home.

I was thinking of a Q6600 with vista premium and have some items on newegg for ~$1500 (8800 GTX, etc)

I'm crazy to play Bioshock (demo runs disgusting slow on this pc).

So the options are:

Wait till vista is fixed (maybe in a couple of years, keep playing PS2/Xbox)

New PC now (instead of vista maybe get xp pro)

Wait for new 10x cards and build new PC later

One of the reasons to hesitate for a new PC is that this one is great for the daily internet and stuff (can still play HL2), anyway all opinions are welcome.

Well I really play alone, you know I'm married and work, and there are few times I play with nephews and brothers....

lol well its just my opinion but it sounded awesome 2 have a few mates round and play some halo 3 on that tv of urs. it really comes down 2 personal preference but sometimes the snobby attitude of pc gamers on here annoys me. I much prefer 2 relax on the sofa with a few mates playing some halo and this is coming from an ex pc gamer but really its down 2 what u would think is better 4 u.

Ok that's what I was thinking a while ago of getting the 360 now and maybe when vista is "better" I would definitely get a new PC!

Agree. Buy the XBox 360 and use the extra money you have left to buy Bioshock, Mass Effect, PGR4, Too Human, Halo 3, Eternal Sonata, Moto GP 2007, etc. You can upgrade your PC next year and play Crysis and Starcraft 2.
