Same here, I couldn't even get to the hydra before I was killed. I tried again and again, but I couldn't make it.
i believe i beat the hydra after around the 20th time (no exageration) but died in the first couple steps of athens. (the minatour things always killed me)
It was easy to beat hydras. In God Mode, Block and Attack and it's timings plays a major role.Anyways, I stucked at the rooftops of Athens I can't kill The golems like creatures with other who went to kratos underground and jump.
  It was easy to kill them but I didn't work out over the Golem creature.. Besides Medusa Gaze is useful alot in God mode.(I think I said it before in old TUGOWU)
i think my brother beat it, he just used medusas gaze all the time
