@couchtater12345 @mariomaster16 So you haven't played since the second game, but you're passing judgement on the story? They've all have a "team" that serves as the antagonist, but each one covers a different issue. Gen I-II was Team Rocket, who basically criminals who were only after making a profit. Gen III was about environmentalism, and eco-terrorism. Gen IV was about world-domination and idealsim. Gen V is about pokemon abuse and the morality of pokemon battles. Yes, the stories follow familiar patterns, but they're all very different. It would have been nice to hear about the plot just a little in this review.
I'm not going to argue with the score as I haven't played the game yet, so I can't really tell. But, this review seems pretty cheap. It doesn't talk about the story at all, and it doesn't really explain good or bad points about new features beyond saying "that's nice," "that's boring." Specificity would be nice, in the future. It seems like there is a lot left out here. The review mentions that there are new modes of transportation, but it doesn't mention which was the most useful or useless. Things like that are important in a review, because it shows the reviewer is paying attention to detail, not just rushing through a game he's forced to play.
@snxx It's still there. The problem is that with this kind of game a lot of times reviewers will rush through without really taking time to learn the game because they're more worried about completing it than they are about understanding it. This isn't always a bad thing, because not all games require a lot of time and dedication. But when a reviewer has a deadline, he/she has to worry about time above things like exploring a game's more complex mechanics.
If I can play Monster Hunter, Halo, or some sort of strategy RPG (something Fire Emblem/Disgaea-esque), I'll get it, otherwise, I'll stick with a 3DS and xbox for now. Nothing against Steam, I just don't play too many games anymore so unless I can play my usual games, I'm not really interested.
On a different note, the Steam box will probably be great for those that are interested, and will likely draw users from a variety of places. If it's cheaper than a console and can be upgraded like a PC, I'm sure tons of people will buy it. It's not for me, at the moment, but I wish Valve the best.
I don't see why this is an issue. It's been almost a year since the system came out; a price cut is sort of inevitable. Nintendo doesn't owe anyone any free stuff just because the system used to cost a little more. What they do owe their fans are some quality third-party games. So far there have only been four or five good third-party games on the system. It'll take a lot more than that to convince the so called "hardcore" gamer.
@Landsharkk Finally someone with a little sense. It probably has to do with language and accent recognition. They're probably still working out kinks for what have now, and don't want to cram more if it doesn't work smoothly yet.
