i m agree with this (I'm sure you need some kind of capture device - low-end like a Dazzle with red/white/yellow rca and/or s-vdieo up to something that does component/HDMI like a Roxio game cap or some kind of Hauppauge device.)

Most games should allow you to play import games but some do have region coding..look on the playstation website it may be able to tell which games are region free.

I'm first person game shooter type of gamer like call of duty and far cry 3 these FPS games are awesome..
