Cows can not face the facts that the PS3 may not be as good as the PS2 and PS1 were. I don't understand why you all stick by the Sony brand name. If this system was made by some other company you guys would be laughing like mad men about how bad it sucks but since Sony is behind it you put on blinders. It's kinda sad really. I'm sorry guys but even giants trip every now and then or did you all forget about the N64?

I own both consoles and I just have to vent for a minute. Sony please, all you need to do is just release one Flagship AAA title, like the 360 has Gears, PS3 needs a title like that that will move systems rapidly. Thats all us sony fans ask for, I would even be willing to forgive the lacking online network in exchange for just one wickedly awesome game!! Im really not trying to troll because I do love both Sony and Microsoft and love both consoles, but come on! It makes me so mad because we all know sony has amazing potential for killer games, the past tells us that. Why cant they just do it already?!?

We have been assessing the extent of backward compatibility, and will continue to do so right up until launch. Does this mean that the PS2 hardware chips have been removed completely and replaced with software-only emulation?

The PS3 launching in Europe is every bit as powerful as the PS3s available currently in North America and Japan. How will consumers be able to tell the difference between the fully compatible launch model available in America and Japan and the new degraded model?

On the external packaging of the PS3 there will be a small 'PAL' logo to denote that the PS3 is built for the European market (North American and Japanese models have a 'NTSC' logo). The model number will also appear on the label stuck to the top flap of the PS3 packaging (beginning CECHC followed by two digits -- see below).

In addition, each PS3 carries a barcode and serial number on the back of the system. At the end of the unique serial number for each console is the mode number. In the SCEE territories there are four model numbers:

Europe: CECHC04 UK and Ireland: CECHC03 Australia/New Zealand: CECHC02 Russia/India: CECHC08

It is amazing, everytime I get on here there are a couple new Wii/Nintendo bashing threads. Of course this is system wars and you should expect some hate but come on most of these threads are unbelievable.

Everyones arguements are opinions. Omg I happen to see 3 Wiis sitting at my local target so with my judgement Nintendo knows about these 3 Wiis and are going to come out with a new system ASAP.

Why DID you get into gaming? No, seriously. I got into gaming when my cousins sold me their old NES when they heard the SNES was coming out in a year. After playing through the NES and then the SNES, I got into gaming a lot since games allowed for worlds you couldn't experience in person and they were so darn fun.
