Fear was awesome, but it still doesn't come close to touching Half-Life 1 (or 2).

I gotta go with GE. Too many fond memories of blowing up friends with proxy mines, and running around as Oddjob (cheapest character ever!!). Although PD had better graphics and more options, GE just seemed fresher at the time. Plus, I never enjoyed PD's multiplayer like I did GE's.

Starcraft II would be a horrible experience on a console. Blizzard is smarter than that.

I find it funny that some people are already saying with certainty that games like Manhunt 2 won't do well on the Wii due to the system's supposed demographics. While ultraviolent and mature games may done poorly on the gamecube last generation, I think it's much to soon to label the Wii's audience as "kiddie". Besides, judging purely by sales, the Wii would appear to have the highest number of mainstream and casual gamers (usually ppl who have no qualms about games like Manhunt)...

The Wii's success doesn't really have much to do with its gaming library at this point. The motion sensor technology has been the real selling point.

Iyethar

Wrong.  It's the motion-sensing software that the technology enables.  Only a small minority composed of enthusiasts purchase hardware because they actually have interest in the hardware itself.  For the bulk of the market, acquiring the hardware is simply an obstacle to overcome in order to play the games they want to play.  You're forced to buy a DVD player to watch movies, and you're forced to buy a Wii to play Wii Sports or Super Paper Mario or Rayman Raving Rabbids or Zelda.

I disagree. With the exception of Zelda and Super Paper Mario, none of the Wii titles have sold very impressively. It's Wii Sports, which is already bundled in with the Wii, that is the real selling point. Thing is, it's hard to classify Wii sports as an actual game. I view it as more of a tech demo showcasing the appeal of the motion sensor control. Now, I'm not saying that the Wii will never sell due to it's software library. The new Mario Galaxy , Super Smash Bros. sequel and MP3 later on this year should provide plenty of reason to buy the Wii. I AM saying, however, that thus far, the Wii's game library has not been the selling point.
