Do you want to spend all your 2000$ or would you be happy if you could get a good pc for 1500$ ?

Do you need a monitor ? If so, what size ?

Are you ok with running 2 video cards ?

HD 4850 isn't really faster than the 9800GTX iBP_Rickochet

Yes it is. It's even faster than an overclocked 9800gtx.

BUT 9800GTX put out less heat

Jamiemydearx3

Again no.

HD4850 consumes less energy at idle and at load than the 9800GTX. It runs hotter because of the crappy single slot cooling method and default fan speed.

Edit: And expect even less power consumption at idle when PowerPlay sets the core at 160 mhz (compared to 300 mhz for the 3870).

So if both of them were overclocked, id say a 9800GTX was better.

Jamiemydearx3

No

4850 is faster than an overclocked 9800GTX in 5 out of 6 games.

The Asus HD4850 beats the GeForce 8800GTS easily for the same price.

Very good choices, except for the hard disk. For the same price you can get the Western Digital 640 GB which is quieter, faster, bigger and more energy efficient than the Barracuda.

Edit: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB

You can install a 4850/4870 card on any motherboard that has a pci-express slot, including Intel boards.
