Just a bit more on point three. If you do fill up your hard drive you can back up your game saves and current (for lack of a better word) BIOS revision and restore it. Personally, I put a 160GB drive in my PS3 the day after I bought it, but I use it as a media hub so it made sense for me. And the replacing of the hard drive is a simple affair, you can use any size SATA laptop drive in it, although I recommend staying with the 5400rpm versions as there appears to be very little difference in access times to the 7200rpm versions out there. Plus there is the added issue of heat with the drive spinning faster. Good on you for deciding on the PS3. The 360 and PS3 are both good systems, it was the media hub stuff and so forth that sold it for me. Good luck with it!
Mate all you need to do is go to your local computer store and get yourself a laptop (2.5 inch) HDD. Make sure it is a SATA HDD. Have a look at the back of the manual for your PS3 and it shows you how to replace it, otherwise google it. It's dead easy. I replaced my 40GB drive with a 160GB drive 2 days after I bought my PS3. Best thing I ever did. Good Luck. :)
