So I guess theyy have given into the advertisers then? Obviously it is more profitable for them to just take the money from them than from gaming enthusiasts?
I have been a paid subscriber for years now. Part of the reason I like Gamespot is because I don't have obnoxious adverts flashing across my screen like you do on IGN where its a constant barrage of crap.
Is nothing sacred anymore and shame on you Gamespot.
I dont agree with you entirely. Maybe in the casual arena; yes, but not for 'hardcore' gamers. Consoles and PCs are still the future for us.
The device looks interestng though. I will see how it works out... but I have a sneaking suspicion that this is going to go the way of the many other failed handheld devices
I can't speak for Playstation Plus because I don't have a PS3.
I have to say that I really like Xbox Live. I feel like I am getting a good service for $60 a month. I usually buy all the season passes and buy lots of MSP.
I am lucky in the fact that money is really no object for me and can get whatever I want (I am an adult... or so I keep telling myself lol).
However, I can see how some people may think that it gets too much when for example you have a very popular game such as COD (especially with kids) where you are being asked to pay $60 for the game, $60 for LIVE and another $50 for a season pass/ DLC. That's over $170 to essentially play a game. That's a lot of money.
If you compare it to my cable/internet bill its actually not bad at all though. LIVE is quite competitive, in that respect.
Going forward I think if MSFT wants to stay competitive they will have to start to look at this pricing structure.
I have had the game since launch and have to say whilst enjoyable is too shallow. It kept my interest for about 80 hours or so, but after that its has lost its allure.
For the amount of time this game was in development I expected a lot more in terms of content, variety and length of the game.
I am not saying that it is a bad game but its just too short and shallow
