I'm making an RPG!!! (v.2) Got any ideas? (begining of story and ideas list)

I've gotten about half way with the story so far, and have finished the animations for the main character battling, and I also have made 3 special attacks for him so far. Now I'm just working on the storyline and am about 1/2 of the way through with it (over 10 pages right now). I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas I could put into the game.

Right now, it's you basic FF layout, because I'm making the game with RPG Maker 2003. Though the game is mixed with a Metal Gear govt. conspiracy kind of element also. There's more to it than that, but that's just to get thinking on the right path.

Ok, since it would be hard to connect ideas to the story, I'll give you guys the basic start of it, without actually giving away all the surprises.

The world is a simple place, there is no technology, there is no cars or microwaves...The life could simply be described as simple. Beyond this simplicity lies a shaded world of technology, and science, only kept secret by the Govt. and other agencies.

As our young protagonist, Vince, is out in the vast fields of (unamed country), he is enjoying the quite stillness of the wilderness. Vince sits patiently, waiting with his still finger on the trigger. A seemingly hopeless rabbit hops into his deadly path, not even thinking for a second, Vince pulls the trigger and the life that was, is now no more. Vince walks up to his hunted prey, with it's head mangled from the power of the bullet. Vince hear's a voice off to the distance, coming from his home village, Estigona.

Vince turns around to see who the voice is coming from, as he spots a dark figure running towards him shouting, he notices that it's his father. Hi father is waving his hands in the air in panic; as Vinces father nears, Vince spots a red light shining down at his father's back. Vince looks up in the guard tower of Estigona and sees man with what appears to be a sniper rifle. Vince shouts, "DAD! Look out!" right then the shot is fired, the bullet ripples through the air as his dad has almost reached his son; The bullet connects to the back of the father's head with a skull shattering chrunching sound. Vince catches his dad as he falls into his son's arms, the Sniper (Sin), readies his next deadly shot, but to his surprise Vince has picked up his weapon.

Sin watches through his scope as Vince takes his own hunting rifle to his head. Vince head is sweating and he doesn't know what to do, the pain is too much, his dad was all he had left in the world. Vince waits with extreme sadness and anger, all mixed together at the same time; he squeezes the trigger, but then eases off, stopping to think. Vince let's out a burst of anger and pulls the trigger; all that is heard is a gunshot, time stops, everything goes blank, the only things Vince can see are his past flying by him. With his dad, his diceaste mother, his brother, every great moment in his life flies by him at that moment.

Right then, he wakes up. He seems to be in his own house again, but he doesn't know why. He looks around to see a girl (Jaina) staring over at him from across the bed....She wants to know more about him, but the more she asks, the closer she gets to reminding Vince about his dad. He asks Jaina how long he's been in a coma state; when she told him he had only been out for one day, he knew what he had to do. His brother's life was still at stake, he had to go to his brother to warn him, to protect him, for that was truely all he had left in the world. After spotting his gun on the floor, Vince jumps out of bed and grabs it. He doesn't want to hold this girl against her will, but he fires off some shots next to her head to show her he means bussiness. Then he walks out the door, on his way to warn his brother........

Ok, that's not how I wrote the story in my story I'm writing now, but I thought you'd all enjoy an intensified narrative of the begining of the story. Please, I only ask of one thing when given ideas, don't give ideas on the storyline, you'll probably be waisting your time there, my story is so seemless and awesome right now that the probablility of me changing it is very slim. That piece there does not represent the true depth of the story at all. It's just there to give you guys a little more of what you wanted, "Something to relate our ideas too".

If you guys need more, just ask, I'll do anything for ya.

Ideas wanted list:

*Good names for people in an RPG (any kind of person name you want)

*Ideas for attacks and magic attacks

*different kinds of puzzles that could be solved in the game

*any innovative features of the game

*drawn sprites for the game are welcome (character animations only please)

*mini games to have in the game

*what the name of the game should be (you never know, maybe someone could give some nice suggestions)

*any good midi or MP3's you've found that would be good for any part in an RPG

Example of a sprite chip set to make or edit

(note: for yours the background must be one solid color):

I now have over 800 friends on my list! Thanks guys!

Wow, I never thought I'd get this far. Lv. 18, tons of badges, tons of friends.....It's all thanks to you guys, there really wouldn't be any reason to come here if there was no one that would read my journals, read my reviews, or to just talk to. This is awesome, thanks again everyone!

100% DS forum (UCB) is going mainstream!

Though my support for the DS has been shrinking, my support and time spent on the 100% DS forum has been ever growing. Just one of the best UCB boards I've ever been to. Now I know I've been selling **** like this on you guys for a while now, advertising different boards and so on (Portable Cafe, Console Cafe, Church and State, Crispy's Dungeon).

This board I believe is very important to Gamespot though, not only are the threads great, and the spamming practically non-existant, but the board is growing so fast right now. With over 600 posts in the last 2 days, out of the current tally of 6700 posts, the board is starting to gain some major support. The board also has a petition about splitting the GBA/DS boards up again, which also greatly needs people's support too.

If you want, come check out the board, the main GBA/DS board is so horrible when compared to the 100% DS forum. So thanks for your time, I'm hope'n that this journal will gain even more support towards the board too.

Click this banner to the 100% DS board to open that forum in a new window, thanks!

Onimusha writer Noboru Sugimura dies...Sorry to say this isn't a prank this time

It's true, here's the link to Gamespot's contribute to the well established writer of the Onimusha series, along with RE2 and Clock Tower, and I'm sure other great classics.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/02/28/news_6119348.html

I fealt that it might have been distastefull to leave that Miyamoto prank journal up in the first spot at a time like this. May Sugimure rest in peace, he will be missed by many.

I fixed my problem...Splinter Cell style!

In the last journal I talked about my recent purchase of the Dreamcast again....And the problem I had with my TV. I had a one prong set up in the back of the TV, when I needed a 3 prong set up (the cable that came with the Dreamcast was 3 prong). So, I hijacked my parent's VCR right under their noses....They still haven't found out, and probably will not ever. So now I just run the game through the VCR, and I've got to tell you, now I remember what got me excited about next gen to begin with, the Dreamcast....I wish I had never broken it in the first place, I'm not getting any more Game Cube games for the rest of this gen...I just bought a Dreamcast, with 2 controllers, 2 games, and a VMU (snazzy Dreamcast memory card) for a grand total of $50.....Screw getting RE4 when I can get like 5 Dreamcast classics for the same price as that one game. So right now I'm playing Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and MDK 2...Both awesome ass games. In my last journal, I explain everything about not getting RE4 in the last journal....I just keep posting journals like a mad man, so there hasn't been replies to my last few....

Everything went so wrong, and then so right at the same time...Dreamcast baby!

I went to go buy RE4 at our local game shop like I said I was going to (some of you voted for what game I should get next). Then as I walked up and asked him if they had RE4, he said it was coming tomorrow...I was thinking, well, I don't have tomorrow, this is my only day! So I asked him if he still had the copy of Chrono Trigger, he replied, "The owner sold it on Ebay just yesterday," about that time this went through my mind, #$%^^#%$#^%#$^#!!!!! ...But then I noticed something...It was practically calling my name, A $30 price tag sticker, promptly placed right on a Dreamcast on the shelf. I just then remembered all the classic games I had for the system, and that the only reason why I sold it was because it broke...Then I started looking through the glass case for some Dreamcast games. Not seeing much of the classics I had, eccept for some 2K sports games, Soul Calibur, Skies of Arcadia (already have it for the Cube), and some other ones (that's nothing compared to how many the system had), I didn't see much that I hadn't already played out and mastered....Eccept, I came across the original Soul Reaver, the only great game that franchise has had, then I looked a little longer and I found MDK 2...Which is by far, the hardest next-gen game ever, or even the hardest game ever........To be continued, I have to go get Taco Bell, be right back!!!!.............

Ok I'm back, anyways....I encountered a problem...I don't have a 3 prong hook up in the back of my TV. Since my TV is beyond getto, it only has the one prong hook up in the back instead. I'm looking forward to many great times with my Dreamcast all over again, but I can't until I find a way to turn my 3 prongs into a 1 prong RFU adapter set up like thing for my TV, or until I just buy the converter thing at Radio Shack.

What game should I get? My final decision (Thanks everyone!)

Resident Evil 4! I found a loop hole around my parents to stop naggin on what I spend my money on (going to the movies with a friend). So I'm going to buy the game behind their back, and I'm 18 so I don't need any damn parent's anymore to buy M rated games for me. I'll get Chrono Trigger some day, because I'm sure 90% of the people that voted for RE 4 just played RE 4 and knew it was awesome, which is understandable considering we aren't in the 16 bit era anymore (runner up, Chrono Trigger).

So, thanks to all those that participated in voting....Here's a list of all the people who voted for which game I should get next, along with what they voted for too, all in numerical order of when the votes came in (all links to each person's profile too).............I've got too much time............

This is the only thing I could think of as a contribute to those who participated in my votes.....If you will, please comment on my choice of game (persuaded heftily by votes), or on this list, or what I should do next that would be more interactive with my journals....Like a contest in a journal or something, I don't know. I just enjoyed this voting thing so much I would like to have more interactive journals like this, so any ideas would help....Thanks again!

How do you like my new journal banner?

This was supposed to be a sig that I started a long time ago and forgot about. So I added the background and banner and did some cool things with blending to get it just right. How do you guys like it? Criticism is accepted.

What game should I get? (Part 2)

Since there was never a disputed winner of the last "what game should I get?" journal, I am taking 2 games that pretty much drew a draw for first place. This time there will be a disputed winner. Pick one, please. Feel free to elaborate on why you chose a game, you don't have to though. Well, this journal will be it, the deciding factor on what my next game is. Let the games begin!!!

Resident Evil 4 (GC)

Chrono Trigger (SNES)
