The Wii is still about 3 million off the 360. If you go by VGChartz they're incorrect by about 1.5 million. MS has already confirmed 11.6 million 360's sold by June and VGChartz claims they're only just over 10 mil.

You do realize that Nintendo and Sony use nothing but shipped numbers as well mainly because in the real world, selling to retailis all they care about. Of course Sony's shipped numbers are systems made, not systems shipped. That is really the only difference, which is pretty big when you think about it.

How does this have anything to do with me telling this guy that the 11.6 million 360's sold was actually their shipped number? And Sony's numbers are SHIPPED also, not units "made". -_- VGChartz 360 numbers are probably pretty accurate when you think about how many stores out there carry 360's and are by no means sold out.

i guess because sony finally reached 1mill in 8months where it took 360 almost 2 years to get to 425k. also sony is not haivng hardware issues, like the 360 is having in JAPAN that is.

alot of lemmings thought KZ2 will flop in the graphics dept, but they ended up selfowing them selves in the end.

The Japanese simply don't like American systems, period. I think MS is wasting money on this market. Their economy has always shown itself to be extremely resistent to foreign competitors, especially in those areas, such as electronics, that they see as their stomping ground. Nintendo could put out a cardboard box with the word "Gaym Sistem" on the side of it and it would outsell the 360. It's not about technology, it's about the culture.myke2010

They dont need Japan. They never have. M$ simply wanted to tap into a market and gain any kind of foothold. Look what they did with the Xbox....didnt make a dime its entire life, but what did M$ do? They established a userbase and the end result is 11 million 360's sold. Think before you hit submit.... :|

The expectations for MS are zero in Japan. Those for Sony are very high. Japan has embraced the Wii over the PS3, unfortunately.

Microsoft is taking the right steps in Japan. I expect a huge sales surge when Lost Odyssey comes out. Those that are waiting for Sony to catch up will find it hard to resist Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey.
