The reason destiny is getting bashed is because "it absolutely does nothing new" and it costs $60, but heck, halo was the same 10 years after the first release.
The problem with Destiny is that it's just not that much fun, especially for the incredible hype. Borderlands, on the other hand, is a kick right out of the box.
Awesome reviews, blows through the hype. I've played about 30 minutes of the game, but my first impression of peter dinklage was enough (does he think the lines are as bad as I do).
The story is so laughable and just silly, I think the game is basically DOA - perhaps the multiplayer will be fun (like halo was). In truth, I never thought much of the halo storyline either.
Definitely an old style RPG, but it's got a lot of style. Fun dialog, fun fighting system, lot's of quests, and a interesting skills system which is fun to figure out. The only real downside for me is the camera which I wish allowed for more control - more zoom out and perhaps free 360 rotation. Besides that, thumbs up!
