@Tekarukite: Exactly. This is what the Wii U should have been and it would have been a big success a few years ago. But they are lagging behind one generation now. Now it's the time of VR (I'm sure Scorpio will feature proper Oculus integration and PSVR is a valid starter kit as well). Home experiences have evolved and a hybrid home/on the go based on a plain 2D touchless tablet to be plugged into the TV seems... too old fashioned.
@kstaggs3: that's exactly what I thought and then I realized I had the same thought for the Ouya... I really hope this has some actual horsepower, at least comparable with an "old fat" PS4, otherwise it will be just like plugging a PSVita to the TV. I want to be optimistic but I am actually quite perplexed.
"you are as good as your last game" (end of first video) is something a VC used to tell the team I was working in before denying an investment and is complete BS.
Rovio is still as good as Angry Birds, King as Candy Crash, John Romero as Doom and so on. When dust settles, no one will remember bad piggies, soda saga, daikatana and whatever other rubbish they may have done later. If you can manage your success properly, you are as good as your biggest hit, even if it will be followed by a string of more or less failures. Problem is: is Mafia III going to be a hit and will this studio have a second chance if it isn't?
