Those were 2 great games though, while the Switch will only have 1. Also don't forget the N64 was the start of the end for Nintendo: that was the generation where it stopped being the market leader and started a decline that only the original Wii halted for a short while.
"I get called by old high school buddies that I haven't heard from in 30 years who are asking me how to get their hands on Nintendo Switch." Seriously!?!?! They didn't call 10 years ago when there was the *real* craze about the Wii and call now for the Switch??? This must be a bad joke...
Also, how hard is to figure out why the Wii U failed? It failed because it was poorly designed around the idea "everyone wants a tablet" and so they added a fake one that felt like a bad and useless toy. In this regard, the Switch has been designed much better. Too bad they couldn't see all the other problems they just threw themselves into.
"Nintendo doesn't want to stumble again." that's why they designed it with inferior HW, priced it higher than the competition and bundled no games with it (besides having the smallest launch game lineup in history).
Sometimes I really wonder what kind of people get to senior management roles in this world to take such abysmal decisions and lack of planning...
Really, having a small internal team do a Switch Sports or new Brain Age sort of game wouldn't have impacted their bottom line at all. Good luck, Nintendo: you need it more than ever now!
