I am about to rebuild my pc and it will have a i7 3770k processer, windows 7, gtx 680 in SLI, 8gb ram, 256mb ssd (windows, games, some programs), another 120gbssd probably for more games, and a 1TB 7200 rpm hdd for storage. I have a seperate dedicated computer that uses a cable card to record hdtv. I was thinking of not using my extra pc anymore for tv recording  (move it to another room or sell it). I want to combine my cable card tuner with my soon to be upgraded pc.

If I have a situation where I am doing something like gaming at max graphics, wokring in Photoshop, Word, having a bunch of web browser tabs open, will one or two 1080i tv programs recording through Windows Media Center effect my other programs on the computer? Will it cause any noticable slow down in gaming or online gaming? Note: hdtv will record to the 7200rpm mechanical drive.

Crysis 3 maxed out, Witcher 2 maxed out with uber sampling turned on, and maybe Metro 2033 maxed out.

does aynone think that the Dead Space 3 save game system is strange. SAVE AND QUIT seems to save from the last checkpoint which are rare in the game causeing you to have to start from far back when you load the game. am i doing something wrong or is it that terrible?

Hahahahaha. I can't believe that's exactly where this thread went.

But dude, yes, it will definitely support a 360 controller, right out of the box. Plug it in, and it will give the 360 version control scheme. The other bioshock games did, and it was actually mentioned in the big reveal of the PC version specs a while back. Don't worry about it.

And for future reference, like 99% of multiplat games have native 360 controller support for the PC versions these days. I can't remember the last one that didn't. I guess Mass Effect 1 didn't, but it was already a rare exception by then.

i recall no gampad support in bioshock 2 on pc, it ws the ONLY time I actually returned the pc game to the store and exchanged it for the ps3 version to have gamepad support.

Well that's pretty daft.

i have barely touched consoles in the past few years. so my preference to not use something like xpadder and get a pc version of game to use a gamepad makes me daft? how does that even make sense? yes i know the graphics are better on pc but I wanted to use a gamepad plain and simple and switching plasmids with the gamepad on pc with xpadder sucked. there was also a game breaking audio glitch on my pc versioni of bioshock 2 and i was furious so i took chance with the ps3 version.  i guess you are just a miserable troll who would rather post useless nonsense than to actually help people out.

will Bioshock Infinite support gamepads (360 gamepad)?  please all of you you have the psychotic need to say pc games should only be played with a keyboard and mouse, spare me.

II-Siamak-II

I mean, it's First Person shooter.......and you are gaming on PC.....:?

here we go again. i work all day using a mouse and keyboard, for gaming i just seem to prefer a gamepad, even for fps games. i barely play online multiplayer and i don't game competatively. although ign said the console versions (gamepads gamepaly) is limited to hotkeys, so i may suck it up and use the keboard and mouse.

My PC has the follwoing specs below that I would like to upgrade. I want to know if my current configuration can handle another GTX 680 for SLI as I already have ordered another GTX 680 as my first upgrade. In addition what would be good to see a noticable imporvement with the motherboard, processor, cpu cooler, ram (if needed), and PSU (if needed). I know this is random but I noticed a lot of screen tearing in Crysis 3 with Vsync on, any suggestions? (I have a 1600p monitor)

I was thinking of buying the Intel core i&-3770K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501 and  the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H motherboard  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128583

EVGA P55 FTW motherboard

Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz LGA 1156 Quad-Core Processor (8MB L3 Cache)

Megahalems Rev.B cpu cooler

PNY VCGGTX680XPB GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5

750 Watt Corsair PSU TX750W

8GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600Mhz (4x 2GB) Dual Channel Memory

(hardrives, sound card, and case do need upgrading)

Thanks for your help.

i like the controller, hopefully someone will get it to work on the pc which would be a great added benefit. Sucks that the ps3 can not play games above 1080p, for most people that will not matter, currently. However in about 2-3 years 4k tvs will probably be affordable and it would be nice to play games at that resolution. (yes resolutions above 1080p do actually look noticeably better believe it or not)

I currently use a monitor that has 2560 X 1600 reolsution which so fat has been incredible for gaming, working and multitasking. Now my games all have the 2560 X 1600 option in the graphics settings. I noticed the new Nvidia Titan video card goes up to 4096 X 2160. Does this mean pc games (old and new) will run at that resolution? Or is this something you would have to ask each video game company in regards to their games supporting that resolution? I know 4k is still insanely expensive. However later this year 4k should be avaialble in around 60 inches for about $7500 which is still insanely expensive however much better than the current $16,000 price tag and small selection of 84 inch 4k models.
