I'll second the riddick, system shock and stalker recs. They are all awesome.

Don't forget about stalker clear sky coming out this august.

As for SS2, I grabbed a digtal copy off ebay for $15 last december. I'd check there every now and then for the same deal.

Yeah, ebay can screw you over, but for p.c gamers who want to buy older games for little $, its the only game in town.

yeah, i've never checked go gamer.

if it interests anyone I was checking on overstock.com and they have a number of p.c games that are probably out of print for sale there.

amazon has sellers that tend to overcharge like crazy.

sorry about the link.

yeah, I was looking into the knights of the old repbulic and the jedi knight series. both are a little on the expensive side.

the witch is a definate. just need to get some more money in first.

mafia is also in the future.

i never really liked the call of duties.

i was looking to get splinter cell 3 eventually.

does anyone know of an online store that sells these games? besides ebay?

Sup. I was wondering if I could get some help from my fellow p.c gamers. I've bulit up a little collection for myself and I was wondering if you guys could look over it and tell me if I am missing anything major. LINK I know I'm missing a few things....

I like my horror games, enjoy racing, platformers, action fighters, first person and third person shooters. Heck, anything but RTS.

Big adventure game fan.

Thanks.

How much money are you willing to spend just to play crysis or some new game that is just visually appealing?

BladeMaster84

Last time I checked it was also considered quite fun. Oh wait, its fun to throw around misinformation, never mind.

Anyway, if you know what your doing and shop around you can easily upgrade a PC to hardware that will handle games for the next several years for a few hundred dollars.

Here and now we should set the rule of thumb, top dollar today=four years of use.

personally, i'm not going to play the upgrade game until something comes out that is upgrade worthy. I could see far cry 2 giving my system a some trouble, but medium at 1042x768 (what I played crysis at) should be do able. I'm more willing to spend money buying/collectiong games than upgrading to gain some fps.

the bottom line is that it comes down to what you want to play and how you want to play it. you choose when to upgrade. trust me, there are tons of awesome games from pre 2006 that many people are missing out on. no pre 2006 game needs anything higher than a 6800.
