@milk: Good for them, then they should target handhelds and phones. I wouldn't release Saga Frontier and say the recommended specs are a 980ti series card or higher... It's just a bunch of devs that want to sell a bunch of low budget crap and call it retro/vintage or relate it to staple setting series of the PS2 or earlier era, nothing more.
Not to mention 99% of them are just cartoonish art styles where you follow lights with trance, atmospheric, and/or slow orchestral background music with dim wits attaching the word "art" to it.
Guess what, I am tired of low quality "art", early access never completed garbage, overpriced Japanese/Korean/Chinese Gacha garbage, cash shop driven Fremium mobas/shooters, and "survival" games that are just big empty open worlds without npcs, without voiced quests, without quests in general, but they throw a crafting system in and a few passive/aggressive creatures and call it "survival".
If people really think any of the above are quality standard setting games, then they would probably give Michael Bay and the majority of M. Night Shyamalan movies 90%+ ratings. All they do is clog up digital libraries that you have to sift through to find good games. They should label them the way Europeans label American food if you go to the grocery store so that you can filter it out.
Wait... a game exclusively for next gen systems and no cross with Vita/Wii U/3ds and it still looks like mobile old shit? I didn't buy a PS4 to play SNES/PS1 games... Don't give me that classic 16-bit inspired by Chrono Trigger horse shit. You did it as a minimalist to spend as little as possible but still sell it.
A. Let me sort something besides custom searches by user review and filter out greenlight/early-access titles because I am not going to touch 99.9999999% that I see and it just causes me to get burnt out and stop searching.
B. I'll stop using GOG or independent installs if you get rid of forced game updates that makes modded gaming tedious because you force us to upgrade and make our games unplayable. I use steam for most, but I will never use it for another CDPR, Bethesda, or Rockstar title ever again until forced updates to play disappear.
It's because we have abandoned balls to the wall entertainment in favor of casting everything with under aged 25 models that all have the same "I wish I was Brad Pitt from fight club" bodies.
What made late 80s movies (and late 70s + early 90s) so great is that the characters defined macho and masculinity and the badass females like Ripley, Lilu (Fifth Element), etc, didn't require all the SJWs "look we cast a powerful independent women" or "look, our cast is diverse" nonsense. Add in the epic Synthwave/Cyberpunk music that filled movies like Running Man and Total Recall, and you had a fun movie that prioritized entertainment over politics.
Other than the recent John Wick movies, and Live Free Die Hard that added Timothy Olyphant and Justin Long, there hasn't really been many action movies (lucky for 1 every year or 2) that doesn't try to implement liberal messages.
It is bleeding into games too like AAA Mass Effect and Dragon Age 3. Being vocal will hopefully help the like minded not pull out their wallets so that they realize it isn't as profitable (which they should notice anyway since The Witcher 3 sold over 25 million copies and Grand Theft Auto V sold way over 50 million and they are anti-SJW in multiple ways).
I'll stop complaining when movies stop trying to be a safe space.
I can't wait to see the finale feminist/multicultural debate between Olivia Munn and the Predator leader to make peace and house the Predator refugees trying escape their homeworld Yautja... #womenintech #girlpower #blacklivesmatter ...
@deviltaz35: I am just tired of SJWs trying to make less than 2% of the population prevalent in everything. I don't want a company to release 10 games where every game has some sort of LGBTQ, women in tech, and diversity agenda.
I don't care how many women you put in violent roles or the BS about 52%-58% of gamers being women, you aren't going to diversify every genre. Men will still be the primary consumer for violent games, PERIOD. The same goes for action movies and whatnot.
Marketing primarily to the minority consumer of a particular product is bad for business. Let the wallets do the talking, if Bioware wants to keep up the SJW nonsense, then they must not like money because I sure as hell won't be buying anything from them every again since DA:I and won't until they change their overall design philosophy.
I just hope they continue with what they are good at and that is a healthy blend of a deep main story and plenty of side stories while blending it with open world. They don't need to experiment too much with the multiplayer and go the GTAV route and abandon what fans love about the Witcher series by focusing on a minigame online counterpart as the main selling point.
It's CDPR, so I really doubt they would. Bethesda and CDPR are really the only devs I trust anymore. Rockstar used to be on the list, but I can guarantee single player will be abandoned for Red Dead 2 online. I'd be fine with some of it as long as their is a single player counterpart that is released and everything isn't solely for online to push currency cards.
This is relevant because it is early development and it's an idea I don't want them to consider for Cyberpunk 2077.
As long as the paid personas are not the best ones, then its fine. It will not feel rewarding spending 100 hours to be a completionist and then there'd suddenly a persona unlocked by a VISA that overshadows the rest... If that's the case, I won't spend the money even though I really want to play the game because I don't want said design concepts to be profitable.
As long as it has traditional characters. I don't want to play Jane Foster's female Thor, female captain america, 15 year old black ironman wannabe ironheart, etc.
