@SeannTHEsheep He said that they wont be creating any sort of restriction software that 3rd parties can use on their on PS4 for their games. However, if a third party wants to implement their own system like an Online Pass they can't really stop them. It's the same as it is now.

I'm confused. I'm throwing money at the screen and yet nothing is happening.

Wow, so many people are misinterpreting what this guy said and are immediately going on the defense for violent video games. First of all he never said violent video games were bad, or immoral, or anything like that. He said that he personally did not want to work on them anymore, he never even said it was because of his religion either.

He also brings up a very good point about a heavy reliance on violence to drive conflict in video games. Honestly can you think of a single game where you are not killing or shooting something? Even Mario kills little goombas. He's saying that there should be more innovation in the gameplay space to allow for different types of gameplay that does not solely rely on violence to drive gameplay and narrative.

If you want a really GOOD video explaining this problem check out this vid from MrBTongue. The video is NOT about video games being too violent, its about a lack of innovation in gameplay space. He brings up a really good point about LA Noire a game about detective work and investigations that didnt need heavy shooting sections and yet still the devs had you mowing down hunderds of street thugs.

"Studio Pixelbionic announced today that Jaffe has joined the company's advisory board as a creative advisor for the company's first title..."

That hardly means he is in charge of the game, I'm pretty sure he's just consulting for them giving them ideas to work with and helping with the core vision. I'm sure he is working on his own AAA game while doing this as just a side gig.

Ugh Tom really asked some dumb questions when he was talking about "mature" and "violent" games.

@tachsniper My opinion exactly, the main storyline experience is amazing but once its over you remember you're playing an MMO and there is nothing else to hold your interest.

Good for him he deserves it, he's kept the company profitable every year. If you don't like Activision and a recycled COD every year then stop buying their games, but don't hate the guy because he does exactly what gamers apparently want, more COD.
