Texture resolution and poly count are not the only factors in good graphics. Alan Wake has some bad textures with low poly models and still manages to look far better than both of these games, and this is mainly because of the effects the game uses to make it look as realistic as possible, which has a much bigger effect then textures....
Its a solid game but hardly the best from the last 10 years, or even the best of 07. Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw hit the nail on the head, it plays just like a mumorpuger with its annoying "collect X of Y" quests. It may be 80 hours long, but it feels like 60 of those hours are filler.
The game does a terrible job of explaining the gameplay mechanics, especially using books and alchemy.

haven't played a lot of PC RPG's have you? Every single PC RPG I have ever played makes life as hard as possible for the gamer. Besides how on earth can Yathzee comment on it playing like a MMORPG when he hasn't even passed Act 1 and the same can perhaps be said about you.
did he seriously not play passed act 1? Lol if that's true then its a joke that people are even referring to his review, anyway, its obvious that he is there to bash a game as much as possible.

that's where I'm up to, i really like the game, i bet the console fanboys even believe oblivion is a better game, i have that game on PC to and its extremely boring compared to the witcher. The story, combat, environments and everything is just far better in The Witcher, and this is the developers first game!!! I cant wait to see what other games they plain on making..
The graphics are not bad, but crap character models and extremely bad performance on the 360. Not to mention the simplified combat, short main quest, bad leveling system, less guilds than morrowind, large, but boring environments with no reason to spend the time exploring them because there are no rare items out there that you couldn't buy from a merchant. I recommend The Witcher, its a really good RPG, definitely underrated.
