@Axile11 He's got a completion percentage less than Tim Tebow. If that gives you an idea...

What a jerk. It's one thing to hand someone a shit sandwich and another to try and convince them that it tastes good - "go ahead! Take a bite! It tastes like candy!" I really... REALLY cannot stand MS anymore. They are crossing from being greedy to being devious. Just shut up, start talking and take your ball home. No one wants to play with you.

I am not usually a "told you so" kinda guy. But I have to this time because I can safely say that I wasn't alone in calling this. But to all you Einsteins and sheeple out there who told us, just 3 hours ago, to "live with it, this is the way of the future" and "Sony's gonna do the exact same thing". Well, this is the difference between companies that pay attention to their consumers (Sony & Nintendo) and companies too arrogant to open their ears and are too worried about protecting their asses than making gaming experiences that their consumers want.

In response to one of those posts about, "I'm in the tech industry - you don't know anything. Sony will do the same thing. This is the wave of the future, live with it", I wrote maybe so but MS is doing it too fast, too early, and too much too soon. I said if Sony knew what was good for them, they'd let MS hang themselves this generation and then slowly introduce some of these DRM and digital concepts slowly and with the consumer squarely in mind over the next couple of generations. And that's exactly what they did! The incredible, "Detailed guide to sharing PS4 games" video is EXACTLY what I wanted to see! And it was so funny to watch Sony say NOTHING over the last few weeks. they were just sitting back and letting MS hang themselves with each announcement and each attempt to explain their ridiculous policies.

Folks, today is a win for consumerism. Back Sony and Nintendo. Let MS hang themselves.

I couldn't agree more with this article. Given all of the bs restrictions MS have levied on gamers wrapped up in a nice little $499 bow, what honestly is unique to this console vs. the PS4? Given both have the same specs pretty much and most of the killer titles presented by 3rd parties will also be on PS4! The 1st party games did not make up, in my opinion, for the failings of the system and it's business model. No reason to buy one.

Doesn't matter how many games they showed today... can't change the restrictive nature of their business model in terms of required connectivity, hand-cuffs on lending, selling, borrowing, etc. They managed to put a bit more polish on what is still a turd.

I so love the immaturity of most of the kids on this site. How about trying it for yourself before shooting it down just so you can look cool in front of your fellow nerds. If a proven professional like Pitchford who is intimately involved in making games across ALL platforms is saying the WiiU version will look the best and is genuinely excited about Nintendo leading the charge with this new controller - OVER MS and Sony - you might want to give it a listen. Grow up and learn to appreciate other points of view outside of what your little girlfriends deem cool and you might actually enjoy something new.

Like many others here, I really have to question why these ridiculous articles are being written. Brendan is spot on. But amongst the fruity, artsy majority of gaming editors, like Tom, guys like Brendan are in the minority. What kind of genius does it take to understand that mobile gaming lacks the depth and attention to details in playability, story, structure and basic CONTROLS that console and hand-held games do. What kind of moron can argue that the virtual controls of mobile gaming are better, or at the very least, comparable to dedicated hand-helds or consoles? Why is this even a question? I agree with Brendan that developers, "...trip over themselves to pursue social games and mobile platforms with EMBARRASSING enthusiasm." I would love to extend that to gaming media editors as well. To think that these supposed "professional" and impartial gamers can even THINK that there is a comparison is beyond me. It just makes them look like foolish fan-boys. And lastly, how the heck can you even argue the point when the FACT is that the DS has sold millions of units and the latest generation of Nintendo handheld is beating records set by it's predecessor. Yeah... can we please put this stupid argument to bed? It just makes the "professionals" professing the idea that casual mobile gaming is and can replace dedicated game look like idiots. It's sad whe normal every day gamers like us know more about the industry than they do.
