Sign me the hell up, man. More Oddworld is always awesome, although I do hope that the humor remains despite the darker story. Still, I'm lookin' forward to this. It sounds great.
As others have pointed out, Sarkeesian hasn't even finished the original project she promised her viewers, and yet here she is asking for more money for another project that may not even get done. You'd have to be a fool to donate to her again.
First thought that came to my mind after seeing the style and "card" gimmick was "Sticker Star 2.0". You would think that after the harsh backlash regarding Sticker Star, they would at least attempt to make the next game look different. Guess not. I'm not gonna' judge the game too badly by the footage shown alone, but I really wanted a traditional Paper Mario, and that looks like something we're not getting. Hopefully, the game will have a stronger story than Sticker Star...
I think calling them "realistic" is kind of a stretch. Yeah, they look more real than they do in the regular Pokemon games, but the Pokemon are still heavily stylized. But back to the topic, I think the style works well for some of the Pokemon, but not all of them. Lucario, Blaziken, Gardevoir, and a few others look good or decent, but then you get to Charizard, Gengar, and Weavile who look kinda' off... and THEN you get to Mewtwo, who looks flat-out horrible. Mewtwo is sometimes depicted as being hairless in fan-art, but why does it look so glossy in this? It looks like it bathed in oil for this game...
Overall, the style they chose was kinda' hit and miss, as far as the Pokemon are concerned.
Glad that we're moving on to the next generation, from the looks of it. Also, I really appreciated the fact that they included a little glimpse of what appeared to be a new bird Pokemon's model being created. Ya' know, it's not much, but it along with the concept art we saw just gives us a small taste of what's to come. I'm hyped! Hopefully, we'll hear more about these games soon, and I imagine that we'll definitely be seeing more from them at E3 this year.
I'm not getting my expectations too high for this, but I'm really hoping for something related to generation 7 or the rumored "Pokemon Z". I feel a "Gen. 6 Part 2" kinda' deal will be less exciting, but out of the two, I feel like that would be the most likely thing we'd see in the direct. Either way, let's hope that the direct is worthwhile.
