Best game ever!

The sheer variety and detail in the enemies, bosses and locations is staggering - It's like 2.5 games merged. It reminds me of a action version of the old Dragon's Lair game.

I had this for the 360 and loved every second of it, most people who finish it, myself included, go bad for NG+ and subsequent play-throughs. I bought this at full price and it was best video game deal ever. This game is so addictive. I you loved this and are jonsing for more, and can't wait for DS2 and own a PS3, Demon's Souls is easier, and not as good but still damn fine game in it's own right, I highly recommend these games to anyone who love action RPGs.

@akiwak The first one wasn't all that challenging it was fun. The only thing they needed to work on was some cool new locals and maybe fixing that broken combat mechanic. Not much tweaking needed the first one was great

@Gen007 Hopefully they mean killing and starting from scratch with that crap combat mechanic - only negative I had from the first game.

Please don't F this up, I mean any sequel is better than no sequel, but I loved the first one, it's uniqueness was part of it's allure. Still this could be cool, just as long as everyone involved with the production is playing Ninja Gaiden 3 non-stop to see how not to make a sequel, and to avoid nearly killing the franchise.

@Jayhawkfan15 IGN tends to go a little overboard on their games, but I usually agree with them much more than this site. Tom MvShea is the worst offender here, though this review sucked some major balls yo.

Another terrible review. This is not a 4. 4/5 games are borderline broken. This lives up to what it's advertising. The game is fun, if not more of the same. Didn't care for the original, you won't like this. Loved the original? This one isn't as fun, but you'll still have a good time. I loved how so many people dumped on the first one because of some dumb ass commercial, yet most people (with bad/luke warm reviews) were all, but it's still fun and addictive. Seriously WTF!? This isn't a ground breaking franchise, it's a coll new attempt at the zombie genre, one that will pave the way for better games of it's ilk.

@Zach_300 I couldn't agree more. Man, part of the magic of Dark Souls was the mystery behind everything. Picking up bits of back story here and there was thrilling, and the unknown made the whole game that much more mysterious and exciting. I don't get the whole, "I want the story spelled out thing" that's for lazy casual players, who really shouldn't be playing a souls game. Still I hope DS2 is as good, if not better, but that's gonna be tough, the series has a great history.

@WithoutGraceXII Too true, sadly though, those words have a bad history, Ninja Gaiden 3 (Ninja Gaiden being the Dark Souls of Ninja Action Games) I'm cautiously optimistic.
