I stay on only if I find the story to be interesting or the gameplay to be real fun. I don't believe in slogging through an incredibly tuogh game just to get 100% complete. I stick to a game as long as I'm having fun or as long as the story keeps me hooked. I don't mind slogging through a game if the story is awesome though.

I'm buying all the PC games I missed because of my 10th boards (they took up all of 2008)

I already got Dead Space and Gears of War. Next week I plan on getting Burnout: Paradise and then later this month I'm getting Crysis Warhead. I'm also getting Left 4 Dead once I get a better internet connection on 21st May. I'm going to make full use of these holidays...

Have any of you actually read this "list"?

It includes people like:

_________________________________

#30 -- Britney Spears

#33 -- The Jonas Bros

#37 -- President Barack Obama

#41 -- Miley Cyrus

#42 -- Shigeru Miyamoto

#48 -- The View

#56 -- Zac Efron

#61 -- Dalai Lama

#75 -- George W. Bush

#78 -- Pope Bendict XVI

#82 -- Bernie Madoff

#98 -- Oprah Winfrey

V

V

V

#139 -- Dan Houser

_________________________________

You see where some of the most (seriously) influential people on this "list" fall?

Britney Spears??? more influential than the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?!?

Zac Efron and The Jonas Bros are more influential in this world than THE POPE?!?

Yeah. It even includes Miyamoto... I am a HUGE, LIFETIME Nintendo fan... and I would hope and pray to GOD (who's actually at #173 after #171 -- Tomonobu Itagaki) that videogame creators didn't have that much influence over the minds and lives of the people of this country...

Yeah. It turns out they didn't even make the top 100. They were bumped down by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt... ...to use a list like this one to drag a more than one year old game back into the spotlight... Why?

I have dozens of reasons why I didn't like GTAIV. I won't get into all of them again here. I tried earnestly to like the game. To simply call me a "hater" and someone who blindly bashes the game, when it is NOT the case, is just a silly as people blindly defending the game just because it's GTA. That's NOT the problem I have with this topic. Videogame developers should not have THIS MUCH influence in this world. EVER.

Regarding the Jonas Bros and Miley Cyrus part, your average American pre-teen will be more willing to shoot himself/herself if the Jonas' or Miley told him/her to do so more than if Prez Obama or the Pope did. I guess kids from today's generation have more control on their parents than the parents have on them. And regarding 'pulling an year old game back into the spotlight' issue, the GTA IV guys have no hand in compiling this list.

well in england here its only the low life scum called chavs majority of the time. luckily i live away from council houses so yeah i'm ok with it. i'm 15 and don't really drink can't be bothered with it.shadowkiller11

My cusion who lives in England showed me a few Chavs on my England trip two years ago. They're pretty funny! There are people you'd call Chavs in India too, but we haven't given them a specific name yet. How did the word Chav originate btw?

I'm 15 myself, and I know this girl if my age who drinks, but in limits, and that too usually on special occassions. lulz thing is her parents know that she drinks and are cool with it On the other hand, theres these two guys, again of my age who share similarities with TC's friends. One of them wastes about 75% of his allowance on beer. Talk about lameness.

Eurgh, yeah. I have a friend like that. She gets £30 a week from EMA (education maintenance allowance) that SHOULD go on books and stuff, but instead she spends it on alcohol. When it's all used up, she whines at people until they buy her more drink. It's annoying, because I don't qualify for ema and have no time for a job. She should spend her money better.

I waste my EMA (Not on alcohol). It would be impossible to spend it on books lol.

I don't know how the EMA thing works but common logic affirms wasting your EMA after spending some of it for what it's supposed to be for is alright. Unlike this girl gingerfails wrote about who wastes it all on booze and then whines whines whines...

Killer's albums are mind-numbingly inconsistent. Just when an awesome song comes along and you think it's going to be awesome henceforth, the next song turns up to be a megadud. Can say that 'bout Nirvana, but can't 'bout Led Zep. You can't knock Zep out of their pedestal, now come on, every rock band that came after the '80s owes something to Zep and that includes the Killers. I do like a few Killer's songs, but they can't be as influential as Zep. Just listening to Zep's first CD makes you think "DAMN! I HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. AND ITS FROM THE GODDAMN '70'S! THESE GUYS ARE DECADES AHEAD OF THEIR TIME!" Can't say that about Killers. Hot Fuss is generic. Everything about Sam's Town stinks except "When You Were Young". Never bothered checking out Day & Age...

Thanks to my 10th boards I had to check it out a month after it's release. I didn't find any thread discussing the album. Drop in your two cents if you like, here are mine:-

A couple of listens reveal that U2 clearly didn't know what they wanted to do on the record, but even if it doesn't really come together that well, it still does have some pretty good songs and is very much listenable. Almost all the songs have rough edges (like the annoying OOOH-UU-OOOH-UU-OOOH-UU in the title track - it sounds good at first but I think Bono just plain overdid it), but they can be easily overlooked. Bono is quiet inconsistent on this CD. His vocals range from pretty good (Magnificent, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight) to downright irritating (Moment of Surrender). One thing I really liked about this album is The Edge's guitar work. He is just wonderful. Till now I've not found a single flaw in it, his guitar really saves the album. The problem with No Line... is that it fumbles a lot. It is very inconsistent, and isn't very fun to listen to in it's entirety. It also doesn't have any standout tracks. It does have some good songs, but they are forgettable. Overall an enjoyable CD, much better than Pop or How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, but definitely not a classic...
