I have not ever really cared much about achievement points. I just play games to relax these days and scrounging for 100% compliton isn't my idea of relaxing. This will have zero effect on my purchase plans but I can see how some of the "hardcore" might be turned off by this. Less opportunity to show off the ol e-peen.

Am other only person who though AC1 was amazing? Sure it got horribly repetitive after awhile but all the actual assassinations were great. It was a bold game for its time and deserves a bit more love IMO then it gets. Haven't played AC3 yet, waiting for the wii u version but I'm looking forward to it. Just keep seeing people laud AC2 and dump on the game that made AC2 possible and had to come to its defense.

I work for an ISP and people like several in this thread drive me nuts. They insist they need Ethernet run to impossible places because they need it for gaming. While technically yes the wired connection is superior 90% of the time the difference is going to be so negligible you'd never notice. I ran wires for my consoles and eventually moved them and just used wifi because it didn't matter at all. If you have a decent wireless router and don't live in a ridiculous house your fine with wifi. Heck I was playing FPS just fine on a crappy ISP provided g router. With N and now AC wires are a waste of time. You people are fishing for a reason to hate on the console. You want Ethernet so badly cough up the 10 bucks for an adapter. If ten dollars is a problem for you why are you buying a 300+ dollar console? You might have better uses for your stretched finances.

I'm happy about being able to use whatever external drive I want. I really couldn't care less about the lack of storage. If I want more ll go drop the 50 bucks for a hard drive. 350 + 50-100 for a drive is still less then the 600 I paid for the ps3 or the $360 I shelled out over the years having the thing repaired each time it took a dump. I was bound and determined to keep my backwards compatible launch unit. Also all the politics talk in this thread hurts my brain. Some people are so frighteningly ignorant it....

I'm insanely excited for it. Enjoyed games on the wii but they just looked like garbage on my big screen. I love the graphics or my PS3 and 360 and ill be happy to see Nintendo in HD. That being said I think it might be my last launch console for awhile. I have a powerful gaming rig and I use my tv as my moniter so PC covers my graphics whore needs. If Microsoft and Sony consoles are either insanely costly or only cheap if you sign up for two years of XBL (first thing Xbox has done that horrifys me) i won't bother with them. Nintendo makes the best games and I have used the tablet controller and really like it. It might be all the console I need.

The Best Buy in Troy Michigan has one set up as well. The game pad is a little big and kinda strange to hold but the screen looks good. The only playable demo was Rayman, but it looked great! I watched a few of the videos as well. Other than the length of the Wii U, it is pretty similar to the Wii design wise. My excitement level has been raised a little for the launch. I would be more excited if I hadn't just built a new gaming PC though....... Sorry Nintendo.GoldenElementXL
Is that the best buy on John r between 13 and 14? I was there Monday night looking and it wasn't set up yet :(

[QUOTE="tormentos"][QUOTE="LastRambo341"] Launch games of a current gen console don't blow the graphics of last gen out of the water

For real.? Apparently you did not owned a 360 on launch, the gap was substantial and easy to see.

Sorry kid but apparently you didn't have the 360 at launch. I stood out in the cold to pick up my pre-order at 12:01 am and I rushed home to play the only halfway decent game it had at the time, Perfect Dark Zero, which just tells you how bad the 360 launch line up was. This forum was full of posts comparing the graphics of xbox to 360 and pointing out how little it had advanced. They used to use pictures of that game, what was it called, Gun I believe. It was ported directly from xbox to 360 and had near identical graphics. People raged and cried that the 360 had come out to early and had outdated hardware already. The PS3 was going to just destroy it when it came out and Microsoft had a massive mistake which would cost them all generation. Sounds so familiar to what I hear today. People who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. Give Wii U some time and talented development teams will make the differences obvious. Granted we are rapidly approaching the point of diminishing returns on graphics so it's going to matter less with each generation. Now with things like physics and AI we can continue to make huge strides imo.
