Which quad core? The 3870 is definitely nothing to brag about, doubt you'll be able to run Crysis on higher than medium with that.

the 3870 is quite a card, i was running full medium on my 1900xt with high fps until i got my 4870.

Ive read issues that ati drivers could be a fault, I have a 4870 with the 8.8 drivers installed. Obviously I dont want to downgrade. Ive tried 8.6,8.7 and 8.8, and none work

Well I had the urge to replay all of the older MOH games (ah so many good times) and just installed allied assault and the expansion pack, spearhead. Allied assault works fine, but spearhead crashes back to the desktop right after the console appears. I dont get the EA or quake logo at all. Ive looked for over an hour on the internet trying to find a fix, but havent.

Any help?

Are you playing SP or MP? The LOD is much worse for me in MP than in SP, and Im running both at max setting.
